here's some more links to threads by a czech grower named prenda http://grower.cz/forum/showthread.php?threadid=15126

who did it with a 150, four clones in individual soil containers and he'd consistently pull 120-140 grams every 8 weeks.

with a 250hps and a dialed in grow with a suitable strain..imho i think someone could reach above a 1/2 lb .

yep - seen it done - vertical 250 with a square frame around it - four dwc plants - 6-8 oz every time.

these vert setups are the most efficient out there, generally hitting 1gram/watt with ease.

I think Graehstone can pull 100+ off this grow.

Hi there Graehstone!

Your plants are looking great, and I hope all is well for you. However, I wanted to point out something that could possibly improve your yield. The High Pressure sodium lights work best if they are placed parallel to the ceiling of your barrel. The light would be spread better for the plants to take in. However, I believe your plants are doing so well because of the white walls in which the light is reflecting from. Also, if you decide to hang your light in parallel to your ceiling, you may wish to make the light's height dynamic so you can move it as needed to your plants height.

Those cool tubes are an amazing thing.. you can get your plants very close to the light with them.

Good luck and best wishes,
Lift

Well my first grow and harvest with the Barrel are done and we are pleased with what we have accomplished. The goal was to hit three ounces with the six plants in it and we got pretty darn close.
You have to realize that I made several mistakes along the way ... like a bulb went out and I didn't notice it soon enough and the pump went out once too, and ... and ... just dummy mistakes and the like, which ended up with some of them not growing to their potential.
The end harvest was 2.8 ounces and we are shooting for four with the next one.

Thanks to everyone for their interest in our Barrel project.
I will see about getting a second "journal" for my second grow going sometime too.

Wow im loving the barrel type idea and honestly might steal it one of these days. Great Grow! and if i do ever build something similar i will def give credit where creddits due.

Sha-wheeet!

Damn, that barrel is hotter than Daisy Duke in a mud wrestling contest. Mighty fine.

Looks real nice. When I 1st set eyes on it, I thought the plants couldn't be taken out but yes they can. If you changed over to barrel of green/bud, they would have to be stationary but you could cut out panels like you did the door to give you access to training to the screen. Just make a way to reattach the panels in place.

I also say to change over to SWC. Then enter the access issue. Ah hell, just cut your holes and wrap some Reflectix around it to send the light back in.

I like that you guys built a platform under the barrel to bring it off the ground. Makes it easier to access the plants.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Seeing as how this is the first time we are trying the Barrel I think we did pretty good.
It's the prototype and with every successful grow we learn a little more and improve it to where eventually you'll just like wave seeds in it's direction and ... WHAMMY ... you have yourself full grown plants, lol.
I will eventually be doing another such "journal" using Brazilian Skunk as the "subject."
Hope that everyone is doing well and that your days treat you with Health, Love and Happiness and your nights with Passion.

sweet job dude, keep up the great work! Looks like GT really made it happen for ya huh?? Peace

your looseing alot of effeciancy with the bulb being vertical like that, virtually know light shines down from the ends of the bulbs and there for your plants must receive light from reflection first over point source light from the bulb directly which increases the inverse square law a little, otherwise a nice grow

mt john im actually of the theory that very soon people will be pulling half pound harvest with 150 watt hps in vertical circular colleseums, i may have to show how this id done real soon, but yeah with a 250 v.c.c. grow u should be in the half pound range without much trouble.
