That is not how things work. None of what you believe is how things work. We don't "make up" for shooting ourselves in the foot by introducing trade bills. No trade deal is going to make us suddenly profitable in the transactions it covers. The idea that new NAFTA is drastically different than old NAFTA is a complete lie. New NAFTA was created because, without understanding anything abut trade policy (remember when he claimed Japan was going to destroy us? - of course you don't.), he destroyed the existing structure, as he has done repeatedly. Destroying the existing structure was causing problems, so a slightly changed plan was forced through. Nothing was accomplished that wouldn't have been accomplished in the normal adjustments these things undergo over time.
China does not pay the tariffs. Again, completely misunderstands how economies function. It is a lie being told to explain a policy that makes no sense, punishes Americans and ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. These ideas that you turn everything to shit and then everything miraculously turns out great has only ever worked for Donald Trump. Inheriting 400 million dollars will do that for you. What is doesn't do for you is add IQ points. It will buy people who will tell you you are not an idiot. Not the same thing at all, as anybody who grew up around NY and watched this guy chew the scenery has known for decades.

Read more carefully, that money was not for a wall. It was for enhanced security measures such as drones and cameras. Which would be more taxpayer money wasted with zero results gained.
