What I don't know too much about is how the Thai that was grown between Chang Mia and the Burma border in the Golden triangle was dealt with, did the CIA fly it out or was it also sent to Bangkok, no way of finding out really.
so what makes u sure it was a thing then ??

as far as i know , it was mostly subsistence farming ,
a field of opium would fetch a lot more than cannabis ,
so u can bet thats what most were doing ,
and its mountainous and jungle everywhere ,
not usually great for cannabis ,
thats why the north east , isaan area was the one known for most of the cannabis , and the neighboring countries also got in on the game too ...

Thank you very much for this post man. You helped me solve the puzzle, now I understand what it was
I sourced this shit in Fuerteventura but it was all over the islands. It was the only thing available 25 years ago.
I would call it now huevo patero. It was obviously brought in these ships called pateras coming to Fuerteventura
It didnt have any shit smell and it was wrapped in simple nylon. It was the hardest hash I ever had in my life. Like you I love softer hash. It was extremely hard and compact and I suspect it was cut with henna

In the Middle eastern Levant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levant
People were doing this spoon in order to heat hash. The beauty of simplicity
Just pick any empty cigarette box and take out the aluminium paper
Then fold it this way so you hide all the white paper

And voila you have the little spoon where you place the bit of hash to mix with your tobacco or weed

Lebanese hash had 2 different types of high: one was uplifting outdoor smoke and the other was sitting on your ass. Both were very good. the sacks would come with 2 types of stamps, a yellow horse and a red horse. One was light brown and the other darker brown. I have no clue which one was which. We were just too high smoking it and making turkish coffee with the lebanese hash sackcloth was better high than LSD, at least for me

Some more canna handicraft
This was the only way I could get my collection of seed to the narcostate. Ant smuggling took 2 years for the whole seed collection. After I tried the garbage sold in Amsterdam in 2018 at the most famous shops like Barney and Greenhouse Seeds, I went on a shopping spree getting all the old seed and out of catalogue seed I could find from any source I could get it. 2019 was real late to start from scratch in order to get decent sativa seed
Plenty of dissapointments but also I got quality seed like Senegal Haze from Afropips and Seedsman Haze original pack. Gracias Rafa!!
And also I got this freebie garbage from Derg Corra and their garbage was the best of all, Northern Thai 2008. Derg Corra supposed gold is pyrite, absolute garbage.
The growshop in Canary Islands that helped me get my collection of seed got busted by Guardia Civil and everyone there got punnished for shipping seed to South America this way

This is how I got Prempavee seed. Go explain them this is the only way to make it
Amazing peace of handicraft, I cant make it myself.
Gracias JJ

MKC is Mekhong Classic, PHS is Phon Sawan, ST is squirrel tail Phu Phan and TC is Thai Cuba
Maybe the cuban is any good? They have no clue, these thai farmers dont smoke

At the narcostate canna seed is a monopoly of the state, they only allow CBD, hemp and rudelaris is what rules the market. If you want to grow a pure sativa you are the worst of criminals and if they caught you smuggling seed you go to jail. Same if they catch you at the border with some seed
They love CBD canadian corpos paying hunger salaries. I had them as neighbours.
Welcome to legality. Local narcos only deal with cocaine, they dont touch the government business. The government succesfully displaced quality weed from the market with legalization
This part of the post is a report in spanish for @jjsys because he cant read english
JJ is a big preservationist of true moroccan genetics. I would love to try high quality moroccan hash one day

About lebanese hashish, there was the yellow and the red because the colors came from the trichomes ripeness, the yellow(light brown color) was made as soon as the farmers could harvest their earliest plants so the trichomes were mostly milky and clear with very few amber ones. The red was done later in the season with more mature flowers who had a higher number of amber trichomes so the final product had a darker color compared to the "yellow". This is why there is 2 different lebanese hashish, the trichome colors influenced the color of the hash of course. Being done with clear and milky resin glands the yellow has a more up high compared to the red done with a lot of amber resin so its effects are closer to a big stone.
I love the red lebanese but have lost access to it a long time ago now, I could score some in France until the early 90's; I think the last time I've bought some in France was around 92 and it came from Dutch friends of a family member of mine. It stopped being imported in France in big quantities in the end 80's I would say. The only times I could buy some was in my trips to Holland after early 90's. I like the yellow lebanese to start the day because it will make you high but still functional but the red made me useless so I smoked some only when I had nothing important to do.
As I told already the moroccan hash can be very close to the lebanese, there is also some difference in the high depending when the plants were harvested. When I visited the farm it was august and they were already in full harvesting mode, they took plants who had still mostly white pistils and let them dry for a while under the sun on their flat roofs. The farmer explained to me the hash had to be aged before being sold, you can smoke freshly done hash but it's not as good as aged one. The quality I bought, the first sieving for a short time and without hitting too hard with the sticks was from the precedent harvest, it had been made in the winter before my visit in august. IMO the quality I bought was done with more mature plants who had more amber trichomes, you could see it had an amber color close to the red lebanese. The biggest difference is in their flavor, it's so hard to find the word in my own language so in english it's very hard for me to find the good terms to describe the flavors. If I could choose between the best moroccan hash and its equivalent from Lebanon, I would take the Lebanese even if I really love moroccan hashish, the lebanese one is just so tasty, I guess they have some very different type of soil for their fields.

Yeah - very early in my cannabis experience - different shades of Blonde and Red Leb - along with mainly what we called 'Slate Moroccan' - and the Nepalese and Paki Black Hashish/Charas - were easily available - early-mid 1970's - London UK 🇬🇧 --
Lucky you, the market was very different when I started to buy some in France but my uncles had access to the same type of stuff you had.

60s [ 70s SE Asia conflict - Thai sticks

70s / 80s Lebanon conflict - Red and Blond Leb Hash

80s Afghanistan - Gold seal Affie Hash

Common denominator ? USA .
There is a lot of truth in this but there is still conflict in Lebanon yet none of their hash is coming to Europe by tons anymore, I can't tell why it stopped exactly but the market is dominated by the Mocro now, the Moroccan mafia who got very rich selling tons of hashish and diversified this last decade in other drugs getting even more money.

You guys were lucky, the last proper canna imports to NZ were the golden Buddha and unfortunately before my time.

Fingers crossed in the future world wide imports are a thing again.

I believe the Lebanese are more into captagon production these days.

I recall speaking to Howard Marks (RIP) in 2010 and asking him what was his favourite smoke and the one which stood out over the years, Lebanese was his answer without specifying which Leb.

I shared a small bit of Afghani with him, not sure what he thought of it, he did say to me ‘support your local drug dealer man’ 🤣
