Jeez I miss good Thai food, can’t find it where I am so it’s all DIY and doesn’t hold a candle to the real deal

True of many places im afraid, often westernised..
I go to a place where I live who has thai/laos/Vietnamese, all as they are in their home country,
This is where I get my hit of isaan food, the owner puts plenty of chili in it, sometimes im crying from the hear but I enjoy it in some kind of masochistic way lol
I often supply them thai chilli I grow too..
Gee I think I'm gonna have to head there soon im getting withdrawals lol

Mate the Japanized versions of other cultures food here is worse than the westernised equivelant .... no spice and little flavour imo.

Unfortunately most of the thais here work on farms as “trainees”(basically slaves)
The Viet community is expanding rapidly though and a lot of good food shops opening up now

Spicy, the last was really chilli salad with a bit of papaya lol
They were shocked to see a farang eating it, really because hard for anyone it had so much chili

Note the essential chilli sauce AKA Nam Prik .
One thing I know its hard work when you take a Thai person out of Thailand . They only wanna eat Thai food !

So westerners going to Thailand and only wanting to smoke western weed has paralells .

Spicy foods like herb it’s all about slowly building a tolerance

The green chillies at your table in Thailand are fkn amazing but will burn ya ring piece out if you’re not accustomed to it

I'm generally quite tolerant of spices.
Indian and China were pretty tough at times but Thailand was like voluntarily being assaulted.
I'll have to get back in the ring with some of that stuff next time I go over.

The one dish I keep wanting to try is the Thai Papaya Salad, we have some really great Thai restaurants around us.

I really like the Pad Thai, but love the Samsui noodles.

I tend to always ask for Thai Basil and Chillies in my meal too don't matter if its seafood or meat dishes, not a big fan of Basil normally but Thai Basil and Chillies in Thai foods a must for me.

Right on man, the Thai basil is awesome and has that almost anise flavour to it.

The Viet mint is another lovely SEA asian herb that just tops off certain dishes too.

I'm not a big fan of mint or Vietnamese food, I love Thai and Chinese and I would love to go do a curse one of these days and Lorne how to cook a few of my favourite Thai dishes.

The night markets in Thailand is something people need to try, every one I know that's been to Thailand really enjoyed that a lot great experience, apparently.

Out of all the vibrant pictures I just saw, a steak looks kind of boring lmao.
I don't mind a steak here and there but for something decent it's just insane.

I can get A2+ Wagyu from my local super markets here in Japan... but it can cost $100-$200 Kg.
It’s So fatty(Tasty!) I only need 100gm Or else I feel sick..... lovely for a treat

Hard to get into as a foreigner fme.
It’s very expensive (A$80-$100:gm) and hard to get as I’m in a rural city so no foreign dealers around like Tokyo etc.
penalties here are pretty harsh, years for grams man.
I just wait till I go home to smoke, way cheaper and safer

Edit: there was a explosion in CBD hemp stores but the government closed them all down late last year. Bunch of them sold analogues that got you high. I tried them a couple times at parties and bars but that fake shits not for me.

Four British men arrested in an international marijuana smuggling operation, with 131kg of cannabis seized, as they prepared to fly out of Thailand from Koh Samui to the UK. They were found to have come to Thailand at no cost in exchange for transporting goods back, with the final price of 200,000 baht per kilogram.

On Thursday, airport security, using X-ray scanning technology, discovered the illicit haul concealed within seven suitcases.

Pol Col Denduang Thongsrisook, overseeing the case at Bo Phut station, noted striking similarities between the two consecutive arrests, suggesting a potential connection.
