Thai weed from Thailand

Not all Sativa is uplifting .
I had plenty of experiences of white ing out as a youngster . Over whelmed by the power of the weed . My 1st exp with the golden brown weed I vomited for hours .
I had white outs from Colombian a few times!! Glad you mentioned this. Weed doesn't do that anymore, at least not what I'm smoking.

Ya - cannabis users like to try and engineer their highs - but it's so variable from one entity to another - different metabolism's - different mental and physical health - mood swings - nutrition - sleep - you name it - so in conclusion - I'd say it's difficult to come to any firm opinions -
- but generally tropical sativas will give you more of an 'Up' and 'Energetic' high - compared to high mountain Indicas - which seem to slow the world down - whilst boosting the appetite 🤔 -
That's why I like hybrids, with the good ones you can have the best of both high types, an uplifting mental energy without accelerating heart rate and anxiety some pure sativas can cause. When I was living next to a Rasta community I had access to the best sativas from all over the world, some of the east asian ones could have some high who would make me laugh like a mad man and other could make me really paranoid. With hybrids I can enjoy what I love from the sativa side without the negative side effects I have experienced sometimes.
It's not easy to find the perfect cannabis for your own personal needs and tastes, I love the aromas of Thai and east asian weed in general but I prefer the high of Colombians, it is more comfortable for me. And I love the satisfying high some indicas have too, I enjoy the whole spectrum of the cannabis highs so hybrids to me are good compromise and it's a lot more easy to grow in a tent in an appartment. When I'll be back to my family farm I'll grow again some pure sativas but right now I can't do it without taking too much risks.

This is a weird Haze pheno that had really beautiful flowers. Small calyxs with great structure and intense resin production.I had no camera unfortunately. The Thai is recessive in this one but it did show a little in underlying anise terps. The flower was too angsty for me. But the Hash was perfect. Sweaty brow clear day stuff.

Gosh it sounds like I wrote that.

lets face it , the whole world has changed and not many here grow that sort of weed anymore either,
its quite hard to find ,, in fact so hard , one looking from the outer like we are looking at thailands growing, might think it doesnt exist here any longer either...
the truth is most are still having a love affair with the new hybrids ...

they say no one wants that weed, given they are where its all happening,
and they need to supply the demand , we kinda have to take their word for it ,
as many have said , the tourists , who are the biggest market , want modern looking pot , so straight off the mark it puts the old thai stuff at the back of the pack ...

a few old heads on threads like this is not going to keep a bunch of farmers farming something they cant sell ..

the difference in growing , flowering times varies a little if growing outdoor in thailand or any tropical regions in the same latitudes really ..,
modern hybrids around 12 to 16 weeks seed to harvest and any time of year other than flowering during the monsoon ,
thai sativa , 5 to 6 months , seed to harvest , only once a year , they are pretty easy to grow outdoors though , quite hardy plants , and the hybrids take a lot more to care for..
That's basically what I meant in one of my post to hempy but when I say it I'm mocked by him because I have not grown thai for decades, it is so frustrating.

Thats good to hear ,
from what i was seeing , we were all kinda agreeing on most major points,
i just kinda felt there was still a little friction , though its not needed ,
since i think we are all chasing , or wanting to see the same thing ..
we can only hope there is some rekindling of the old stock due to demand from the customers ,
i think ive seen the like for sativa types grow over the years really in the time many of us have been on the forums ,
sometimes getting them to try hybrids containing those sativas is the starting point...

Presentation is also another thing that needs to be taken into account , improving the presentation ,
like using a machine such as those smaller cigarette rolling machines , but larger,
and making a nice round stick on a bamboo sliver , it may be more attractive for the newer crew and entice them to buy them .
Takes away that brick look , or some twigging or spindly looking flowers in a bag ...
A more uniform version of the old thai stick is what im trying to paint a picture of ..
I too have seen a lot more interest for long flowering sativas appeared in this forum since a few years now, but this place is full of growers with a real passion for this magical plant and it might not represent the majority of cannabis consumers in the world. Most of the growers around me don't want anything who need more than 9 weeks to reach maturity, even me who like to smoke pure sativas can't really grow some in my current living situation because they are not practical to grow in the small space I can use and I can't wait 16/18 weeks to harvest each time or my jars would be empty half the time. Sometimes I run 1 long flowering plant with the other hybrids but I've not done that recently. Right now I have some hybrids made with New Caledonian pollen from ACE, I hope to find something with enough sativa traits in the high and being done in +/-12 weeks, that's the type of compromise I have to do to be self sufficient.

I am so envious of people getting to grow out stuff like the New Caledonian and try it...I hear such good things. I never see other people's weed anymore much and never any real sativa. I kinda miss that white out Colombian. But I got to admit when the white out would hit...that was effing scary.
I have had a few extremes reaction to cannabis, the first time I got high, we were playing Dungeons&Dragons in a cave, my older brother and his friends smoked some moroccan hashish and just the secondary smoke got me so high I almost died of laughter, I couldn't inhale anymore because I was too busy laughing, expelling air. Thankfully a guy reacted and helped to breathe, this was pretty intense and my very first high.
I am a joint smoker and I remember once a guy had some White Widow he had just brought back from Holland but he was a bong smoker so if you wanted to test his WW you had to smoke a bowl, I did a small one and immediately after exhaling the smoke I got up and ran to the puke in the toilet🤮. After that I was nicely high but the puking phase was not that fun, I think it happened this way because I have never been a bong user.
Another intense high was with some Thai grown in the south of France outdoor, it was the 6/7 years of its acclimation to her new growing latitude, it was quite strong. One night i smoked some with my girlfriend before going to bed but we couldn't sleep because we had too much burst of laughter for nothing. This one was fun.

fresh nights , and days up to 30 c still
The Thai weed I grew comes from a betta farm (Betta fighting is a popular hobby in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam) from Sakon Nakhon;chatting with the person who gave them to me I remember him telling me that the owner of the farm lost a lot of fish a couple of years ago due to a sudden drop in temperatures...
I always wondered how low they could go to kill the fish...
