I thought rsc would have some proper ones in there, I hope. He has some other new ones like hmong ganja from Bolikhamsai Province in Laos so hopefully they aren't kd'd but have heard great things about his sourcing before so let's go.
There were no seeds in it.If it was that good, why are you not growing it ?
pretty sure angus collects this stuff himself limey ,I thought rsc would have some proper ones in there, I hope. He has some other new ones like hmong ganja from Bolikhamsai Province in Laos so hopefully they aren't kd'd but have heard great things about his sourcing before so let's go.
- it's as if the Thai's themselves consider their own traditional cannabis - a much lower grade - compared to all the fancy named - mostly indoor grown hybrids - so it was priced much lower than the $10-$30 per gram indoor/hybrids - at around $.60 cents per gram - and not even advertised in the store - I had to ask for it -
What kind of aroma did this big Laotian plant have? Looks impressive. They get so tall like some Indians from the Himalayas.probably over 20 ft , the green house roof was 4.5 metres ,
and it hit that then grew along it a fair bit ,
plus it was a cutting , ideally i should have waited longer and planted later after the longest day so it didnt get so large , became a bit hard to care for and hard to feed despite the size of the garden bed it was in ...
happy new year too mate ,
hope its a prosperous one for you ...
ftl = faster than light right ???
I'm pretty sure that if you trawled for long enough - thru umpteen cannabis shops (and there are thousands) - throughout Thailand - you may come up with whatever you seek - all I have to go on is a few weeks and around 10 different establishments in different cities/towns up and down Thailand - and didn't see any Thai or Buddha Sticks - as I have done a long-long time ago - it wouldn't surprise me if someone is still making them - at all -Thai cannabis back in the day was coincided some of if not the best Cannabis on the planet and as most of the cannabis commerce and shops are geared up towards tourist I am honestly shocked that no ones focused on producing the old Thai sticks as they would sell like hot cakes.
They would need to live up to the quality of the past otherwise people would just buy cookies and that seems to be what is happening.
We have to educate the young smokers by sharing sativas with them.100% agree with all that mate.
Planting the eduction seed is key.
The yanks have fucked this from both ends for sure and they are really good at the capitalist marketing game.
But the thing with capitalism is it always moves in boom bust cycles.
This current “cookies“ cycle will end as the next trend takes hold with a new generation of punters.
This current wave of indoor weed is influenced by the opioid epidemic imo. Just like the taste for acid in the late 60s and cocain in the 70s/80s influenced the type of desired herb in those eras.
The resurgence of LSD, majic mushrooms, and ketamine as therapeutic medicines and increasingly as recreational choices will influence the next wave of strains imo as we see a new era emerge.
before the new cycle emerges the bust must happen.
I think this will be partly due to the burnout of the consumer. Creating these strains with 40min highs that only work once or twice is like fast fashion, it’s not sustainable. It does not create brand loyalty over the medium term or even interest in the product over the long term.
The other major factor is the world wide market emerging where labour costs are cheaper and climates superior to the US.
I could keep going on And slicing this up but I feel I’m just wanking on a bit. Sorry guys/OP slight thread derail, this is only my opinion realities may differ.
I do see light at the end of the tunnel but first we just have to fumble through the dark for a bit.
The first Thai I ever got was expertly grown and sprayed with narcotic. It was fucking awesome! And the terps and taste were amazing.pretty sure angus collects this stuff himself limey ,
and is aware of both cannabis culture and thai/laos culture ,
i have a feeling his lady is from Laos??and
its unrealistic to think just because one guy made some hybrids and sent them to some people that it ruined the whole genetics within the country .
Im sure you will be right with those genetics from rsc , and from what i see of prempavee , she is also aware of hybrids and landrace types , she seems honest and has a good reputation , i havent seen anything grown from her landrace types that looked hybridized ...
the clip shown in previous posts about what kd said about laos brick isnt totally accurate either,
the stuff is very commercial and grown in very large patches , sun dried often , conditions are rough with a lot of it ,
this treatment doesnt allow the seed used to show its full potential, i guess as an example its a bit like some of the brick sent to america from mexico etc ,
some of the seed in that stuff will produce much better weed than it came from ...
the main reason thai weed isnt what it once was is simply its not grown with the care it was , not bred with intent , especially after 40 years plus of cannabis prohibition,
im sure you can get some very good stock next door to thailand in Laos... and also in some parts of thailand ...
yea they can get huge mex , larger than that with time and better conditions ,What kind of aroma did this big Laotian plant have? Looks impressive. They get so tall like some Indians from the Himalayas.
Yeah - each to their own - usually though - when you just drop into a new place - country - far off location - I'm happy to have any sort of cannabis - and often (in the past) - there hasn't been a choice -It's the older people that remember how good the Thai sticks were Gypsy and if any of them walked into a bud store and saw a Thai stick they jump at. If the younger smokers had the opportunity to smoke some of the old Thai, they be reaching for it too.
Saying that not every one after a racey tripy long-lasting high, some like the short highs.
Thai i bought in the 90s at my favourite coffeeshop had always a woody minty aroma what i remember. Seeds were just a few.yea they can get huge mex , larger than that with time and better conditions ,
the aroma is very hard to describe since i cant place any other aroma similar to it ,
but its like a lot of asian/thai weed i have grown before , certainly hints of sour mango,
and a really nice fresh smell,
it changes a lot after a good cure , more earthy and less fresh , the mango smell dissipates too,
i know you have purchased thai before , its likely a similar aroma to what you have tried ...
perhaps cigar box aromas , deep/rich and earthy ... maybe a little musty ...
