TGA Genetics- Concerning Potency...

Older folks and hot little cute chicks frikin LOVE some TGA gear. Ive ran the hell outta the early catalog. All that shit with that Space Queen male that Sub used for pollen. Too lite for growers and smokers that are hooked on the floor your ass Kush stuff. But beautiful plants with all sorts of fruity and candy sweet tastes. Definitely social at a party or bar parking lot weed. Sub uses or used gear back then that went against the grain. Gotta give him credit for at least that. When everyone was running og this or kush that or Chem/Diesel whatever..he kinda used different sort of Vic High/Overgrow style and genetics.
I will admit I havent ran ANY of Subbys newer offerings like Obama Kush (or whatever its called) or 9 pound hammer stuff. But his older catalog...the first one with stuff like Agent..Jillybean..Pandoras Box..._Kaboom...Chenobyl (one of his better ones)...Ace of Spades..etc. I ran all of that.
These may not be for the person that gets a little pot, runs out, then gets some more. Generally if they have access, are looking for the heavy hitter like you say. For a person who has several varieties in the stash these are very desirable.
I tried Dairy Queen, Ace of Spades, Vortex, Qwerkle, Ripped Bubba, and Chernobyl.
Not much to say about them all, except I liked how the ace of spades looked and smoked. Not super strong but nice.
And the Chernobyl pheno I had really impressed me with the high. It was a small yielder, not even medium yield. But wow it was a mind fuck, very trippy.

That Chernobyl I ran..kept a pheno of that pack for about 8 months. And yep. No yield but holy high hell it was a very STRANGE and different high. To this day...out of all the strains since then..that one stands out. And that Ace of Spades...damn if it didnt smell EXACTLY like black berry jam.

I had a select Agent Orange cut that was being held in a circle up in Michigan, until it got out. Super nice cut. Was 'only' like 14% potency, with a real nice effect. Perfect for rolling blunts and puffing all day. Wish I still had it.

TGA's Jillybean is the most fruity/candy thing I ever grew. I had a best one out of five females that I held on to for a couple years and regret not having it anymore.
I agree with everyone else about TGA, it's all been said. Chernobyl has a great smell, similar to his Vortex strain but stinkier. Small yields, smaller then Vortex. Would be nice crossed to a high yielding skunky or stinky plant that could boost the size and potency.
I used Chernobyl as a tester because of it's distinctive smell when I went to a local dispensary. To see how legitimate the government shops were. I wanted to open the jar before I bought it but wasn't allowed to.
When I got home and opened it I was very disappointed. My other grower friend agreed it smelled like all the other commercial hydroponic bland tasteless stuff.
Why bother with that strain if it's going to smell generic at least get something that yields. As I expected it's buyer beware at those places. Can't believe how many smokers have switched to the fast food of cannabis. I've since found good stuff but got to know what brand before you go there.

This thread began with allot of whining about lacking potency. For me, it's like beer - A stronger one isn't necessarily better. I want one that is enjoyable on all fronts. Understandable that it's not for everyone, but I will grow TGA strains now and again. Maybe not something to run but definitely something to have on hand, share and be appreciated.

From what I can tell you of these Cuvèe and Locomotion I have here are.. 2 of 3 cuvee hermied. One really bad but luckily it was the lemony kinda smelling one I'm not too fond of. The other herm was just a small sack and once.pulled no more seem to have showed up. In week 5 of flower now and the 2 Cuvèe smell good .. almost like chocolate liqueur. The Locomotion of 3 fem i got a pink haired pheno and other 2 have hints of purple and orange. Very citrus like you just cut open a nectarine and covered in frost. Definitely not as stinky as the description though but still a few weeks out. One loco definitely going to be a low low yielder... so I'll wait amd see.what the next few.weeks.bring and decide if I'll keep em around. Did a pollen chuck so have option of f2
Aaron at greenthumb caregivers in MI may have that cut. Not super potent but an honest terpy orange.
My buddy ran that Agent cut. Almost sure of it. It was in all the dispensarys few years back. Extremely orange citrus. Cali O/ Orange Velvet x Space Queen. Decent yielder too. This was a few years ago. The only thing with Agent in my experience was herm prone seed packs. I went through 4 5 packers to get one that only popped stamens late in flower which was acceptable for me. Like all of Subs gear...a lite mellow creeper high. Daytime mow your lawn happy mellow high. Kush gear STONES you. Subs gear gets you high. Big difference. My neighbor is a patient. Older gal that I bet wouldnt mind some old school Subcool gear. The kush stuff my other patients love is just too damn strong for her. i run Santa Cruz Blue Dream basically just for her. Just 2 or 4 plants under a back corner Gavita. I wouldnt mind switching it up for a good TGA sativa. She would dig that. Havent ran a fruity citrus/candy strain besides Santa Cruz in awhile. Subs gear is easy to get here in Michigan. Few years back EVERYONE and their brother ran TGA stuff. This town was inundated with it. Not so much anymore. I might giver TGA another shot. That gear is easy to grow as well. If you want variety and tastes and not so much potency or yield (some tga like Bean/Agent/Cleaner yields real nice but the really good ones dont) then Subcool and TGA is up your alley.
I ran the hell out of p box awhile back. 3 grow houses ago. About 2012 or 13. It is decent. Tastes unreal..Again..not knockout potency but alot of people dont wanna get clobbered at 10 in the morning with a cup of coffee. And your rite. Like a sweet squirt lemon soda fizzy taste. I got quite a few different tasting phenotypes from P Box. Berries and sweet juicy fruit gums..all kinds of flavors you just dont get with hashy kushy earthy indys. If Subby and the Green Avenger crew could infuse those sweet frutiy Space Queen tastes and smells into a knockout og or kushy bubba type stoney cultivar...wow. That would be something. Seems you lose that hashplant narco stone when crossing to more swet fruity sativas. At least my simple home hobby pollenchucks did.
Oh and one more thing. Back when all I ran was tga..those strains absolutely KICKED ASS outdoors. Much bigger plants (of course) and the smells and tastes were simply stellar. These varieties it seems were ideal for outside during the season in a good compost/organic worked soil. The tga gear I ran outside back then...WOW. What variety!!!
