i dont know where ur at but down here n FL they will search ur phone and make/take calls/text search ur photos while u sit on the side of the road . ive seen them do it at a traffic stop and acctully get an arrest from it and if u refuse to give them ur phone u can end up with an obstruction charge and then they get it while ur cuffed anyways
u c alotta cops dont give a fuck about if they can they do and if anything comes from it its up to the courts to decide and more than half the time the "victim" dosent get a payd lawyer ends up with a public pretender who talks them into a plea instead of trial so they get there conviction and the cop goes on to the next victim never even knowing what happend to the last victim. every now and then some1 lawyers up and gets off cuz of it but you know what the cop doesnt give a fuck cuz after they drop u off at the jail its up to the system to figure it out but he still won cuz ur ass still whent down and had to pay for bail/lawyer and missed time

u can say what you want man but im just telling you my experience...maybe i fucked up getting out the car, i didnt have anything on my person so it was no biggie. I try not to piss off cops.
They went threw every single text in my phone, and any one that sounded like it could have something to do with drugs, they would shove it in my face and be like whats this about huh huh..also went threw everyone of my pictures..although im sure a couple probably caught them offguard
If they actually had something on me would it hold up in court since they didnt have a search warrant, i donno? I do know they didnt ask at all to go threw my phone. And yes they made a phone call from my phone to the guy who text me, when i told him he was talking to the police i think he shat himself.

Ok You are right. Liar was out of line. It did reek of BS to me. I wouldn't have handed them my phone. If you are under arrest that is a different story. Some cops are fucked up and break the law. I just know what I would do in that situation. I would be taken badge numbers and talking to the aclu. Im sure they had a dash cam and mics on.

When I got out the car they did the usual check me for weapons and took everything out my pocket so the phone was sitting on their car when it went off.
Maybe i should of left it in the car? They never asked to search the car, just asked if i have anything illegal in there.
Anybody who does not have an unlock pattern set on their phone should take 30 seconds and do it NOW.
Then when your phone buzzes on the hood of the car and they flip it open (or whatever) they will NOT be able to access SHIT.

I get a new one when something stupid happens with anyone that has the number or the activated time expires, I only get 6 mo or less ones, after that I smash the shit out of every single component and toss em in a few different trash cans.

No way they can record or even listen to every single cell phone call made in the USA 24/7/365. Unless you are on the radar you have nothing to worry about. OTOH if you do get on the radar and don't know it then you get drilled. This is solved with straight talk/boost/virgin etc.
i get new metros every 2-3 months....honestly should be doing every month. you never know when someone who knows someone gets busted or gets on the radar....your trusty broker might be dealing with someone who moves big weight across state lines and they will trace number to number....also it does no good to simply switch your own numbers...you gotta coordinate phone drops with your circle..basically everyone drops and gets new numbers at the same time it helps break the trail...
but still its best to not be talking about crazy things, or worse yet talking about things with someone who is being tapped, on the same phone as your favorite growers....example = they are wire tapping broker A...broker A calls your phone and now they tap you. you call your other friends grower B, broker C, etc and now they have access to them. Grower B calls broker Z who is a big time mover with another network on his phone...boom, within 3-4 phone wire taps they have a dozen growers and brokers all figured out....
so basically i walk around with 3 phones all the time because my growers got their own special phone and my brokers got theirs too...i dont want my sources being traced through my brokers by way of me.....gotta break the chain.

I forget where I saw it, but there was a recent court case where they decided that it was acceptable for the cops to go through your phone, if they suspected illegal activity. At least it was something along those lines. If I can find a link to the case, I'll post it up.

Id say depends on how big your are going. I usually just get a new one every 5-6 months, but im not doing anything big. so YMMV.

I totally agree with CabsAreAwesome. What I do if someone's is calling you to talk about something legal they will come out and say what they're calling about. If its other business it should be as simple as this: "Hey are you at the house or lets hang or lets grab a drink" if the answer is "No", your busy then they should know what that means. This isn't rocket science, don't talk about business on the damn phone unless your really trying to piss me off or its a tip off call that says clean shop. I see the importance of having to talk on phone because I might not have time to make that ride other wise shut the hell up if ya call my phone. That's just my two cents.

Metro PCS or Metro Piece Of Shit as we call it sucks, try calling their customer service, they ain't got one.
Metro is a low cost carrier and although they have improved their coverage area they still have a lot left to do.

And if you use the AT&T based phones you won't have to keep changing phones, just get a new (and free) SIM card sent.
