Nice Samtodd!

Yeah, I love to hunt BigTex! I'm up in Iowa going to school right now, but i should be back around the 12th in December and i always try to get in some hunting before I go back. If you want to do some exotic hunting, let me know. my Dads friend has a place near Fredericksburg, with whitetail, axis that I've seen with 3ft+ racks, turkey, and there are a few black buck and muflon roaming around. I've also got a place near Abilene its not as nice but it has whitetail and turkey. My friend just bought a place up near Paris so i might be up there for a while, if you wanted to hitch a ride down to one of my places let me know.

You said it Bevo! - 2 wheels on the 6wheller. I've thought about getting one just so i can drink and drive comfortably at the same time, but 4 wheelers are just to much fun!
How was dove hunting down in the south? most of my friends didn't do to well this year, they said it was really really slow and they mostly just drank.

I used to take my pits wild boar hunting up in the hills of Arkansas a few years back. The dogs absolutely LOVED it, and it was just a rush to see two dogs teaming up and working together to kill a fucking HUGE ass boar. The only wack part about it was carrying the heavy fucker after its all said and done, lol.

Dove and quail hunting down by Laredo is probably the best in the state. I am fortunate and have a wealthy uncle who has a 7200 acre ranch and a 9100 acre ranch down there. This allows us to 'stretch' the rules. We typically roll around in the gas golf cart, 6-wheeler(a little loud, and shifting gears is sticky) or a jeep with a rack... We shoot as we go, and we will jump out and hunt the quails on the ground. This method isn't exactly legal, but we destroy the birds this way.On an average day, 2 of us would get atleast 45 birds.

I would like to get be a Bobcat this winter, although that is one of the only animals I have an internal struggle about shooting. They are just too badass.

I can't find my pics from last year, but Ill be sure to slap some up here in a few weeks.

If anyone reading this has an peyote experience, do you know if any areas around Laredo or Bruni are known for a large peyote population?

yep just check out http://peyote.com/peyote/index.html

"Salvador Johnson, of tiny Mirando City, is one of the youngest peyoteros; he is 52. He employs up to a dozen labourers, most of them relatives, to pick peyote buttons all year round on about 30,000 acres. His business is booming. "You can have 100 church members come down in a weekend," he says, "and the least that each of them will take is probably a couple of thousand buttons." Mr Johnson himself may not supply all those customers, but at $150 for 1,000 fresh buttons--or $170 for 1,000 dried buttons--the maths works out well enough. "By June, I take a break because I'm exhausted," he says."

I think your right in the heart of peyote country.

Central Texas here. Not a grower (yet :p) so I'm still at the mercy of the shitty availability and rip-offs that go on around here.

I have been to this area and to mr. johnsons, tons of buttons drying everywhere in his backyard

He told me I had to have a card (have to be 1/16 Native)

But if you hook up with one of the mexicans at the gas station a few streets back they will take you to some plots after you buy them a few more beers, watch out for rattlesnakes...

However word spreads fast outthere and everyone will know exactly what your doing...

Make sure you go with someone who speaks spanish and put the things in your door panels... I know someone who did time for those things (unrelated to this story)

Wow I had no idea I was surrounded by such a bunch of 'good ole boys'. Looks like most of us guys around here are peas in a pod. That's so cool that most of you other Texas ptheads are hunters too! I love it here & I love the people here.

There's lots of wild hogs around here. Pretty soon I'm gonna go out & slay a few.

I know! To be completely honest, I was expecting totally different demographic!

I have a question, that I think a few of yall may be able to answer. This is only something I have thought about and considered, and just looking for some starting point advice.

I am looking at leasing, and eventually buying a 2-10 acre ranch(would like to eventually ranch on a larger place). I would like to be able to have a green house, and run no more than 5kW indoors. I will also be doing some normal gardening and raising some cattle(Im a redneck with a green thumb). Which area of Texas would be best? I am a Houston native, but ended up in Austin for college.

Ive looked into land in the Liberty Hill area(Williamson) that I really like, but I would like some input before I seriously start limiting my choices. I realize that WIlliamson county takes a tough stance on drugs, but my situation would be a different, and secluded.

Which areas and counties would yall consider best for this type of setup? I would like to stay close to the Houston, Austin or East Texas area. As I said, these plans are nothing more than ideas, and I wouldn't mind yalls advice to help weed through my options.

if i were you i would look for the most economical place.. so cheapest land, utilities, etc.. then setup with your "welding shop" on your ample land.. and blow it up with about 8k worth of flower.

Find a small town and get ready. I'm growing in an attic in Texas. Spent a lot of time around the whole state. Let's get the South Coast rollin'.
