Are they in the attic making noise?

Dude, I just had to! Jk. :)

Termites in your indoor plants or ?

Outdoors in the forest. Haven't been able to find anything readily available to treat the soil with. I don't want to use arsenic or creosote or anything like that; I don't want to poison people.
The only natural things I can think of to do is to not water the plants too often; the termites are attracted to moisture and if the soil around the plants is damp but the surrounding soil is dry then they will migrate to the damp soil around the plants and then eat the plants roots. This might mean though that the plants end up stunted because of lack of water.
The other thing I could do is plant later in the season, so the plants will not be in the ground as long and hopefully will be ready before the termites find them.
This means the plants will be smaller at harvest but I guess it's best to get less yield than none at all.

I never even saw a thermite snce we don't have them over here, but I thought they ate only wood? (at least, that's what cartoons thought me)
I have had ants with an entrance to their nest right next to the mainstem of one of my plants, didn't hurt them at all so I just let the ants go about their business(also never any aphids on my plants, I've only seen ants cultivate, or at least milk, aphids on eldertrees so far)

Termites are a terrible pest. I've had them kill more plants then I care to admit. They hollow out the stem and eat the base of the stem until the plant just falls over dead. Any liquid insecticide should kill them.
Spectracide triazicide you can get at walmart and works well. granule based insecticide does not work so don't waste time with it. Termite bait stations are the organic way to kill them but they are expensive.

yep, termites enjoy cannabis very much! they'll even climb into yr pots thru the drain holes.

the current range of sprays for these (spray a ring on surface around plant) is quickly biodegradable, usually lasting 12 months.

it's a bitter pill to swallow this issue of spraying. but there is no other sure way of defeating these little workers unless you plant in the middle of ground that has been ploughed many times.

at least not in most parts of Oz.

Myself i have had no experience with termites but do they like sweet things like ants do ? If they do there is a foolproof organic way to get them away from plants & kill them .
I know this will work with Bullet ants as yrs ago i told a grower how to get rid of them & it worked . Get a jam jar ( is is preserve in the U S ? ) leave an inch of jam in the jar & add a bit of warm water & sugar so you have a sticky solution . Punch a good hole in lid with a nail & plant the jar so the lid is about an inch above ground . Empty it out when full enough of dead uns . Simple & very effective .

are you treating you plants for termites ?? or are you treating the area??

I want to treat the soil around the plants; by the time you realize your plants are being attacked by termites there is nothing much you can do; the first sign of termites is usually that the plant falls over.

advance termite bait is supposed to kill the queen and the whole colony. I'm trying them for the first time this year so I can't report yet.

first time for everything i have never seen termites in a cannabis plant.....sure its not root aphids

I've had them a few times. Find something with Pyrethrum, natural insecticde. It was always to late for the plants except for one time, but it got rid of the termites

that will only work temporarly and not for the ones underground, ants are pretty effective, and young ants never leave the nest underground. only the older ants wich are already coming closer to their death and aren't a big loss for the colony go aboveground(especially the explorers, wich will be the ones you catch, they have the most risky job so are also the ones of least loss to the colony)

if you really want them away you have to get the queen, wich also depends on the species since some have many queens per colony, other only 1. like the most common ant around here, lasius niger has only 1 queen per colony. but with a big colony that queen can be deep underground. few years ago the neighboor asked if I could eradicate an antcolony in her backyard, she's allergic to insectstings like wasps, bees, ants etc
I poured pan after pan of boiling water into those tunnels, and the colony is still there.. and still big enough to hold big brideflights every late summer
no idea how that is with thermites btw, but I guess similar

Make a little trail of sawdust leading them to the neighbors that ratted you out.
Then again, those may not be termites. They may be those little stealth robo bugs that DARPA devised to spy on you.

I hate termites too. I've battled the subterranean termite for years. The first sign is usually a slow or stunted plant when they start attacking the roots. After they bore up into the stem it's pretty much over at that point. Like you said it will just fall over dead. The best stuff available right now short of those obvious bait stations is Dominion 2L. Mix it up and pour a ring around each of your outdoor plants far enough out that the plant isn't drinking it up. Safe around fruit trees so I'm comfortable with it.

Dominion 2L Termiticide/Insecticide

PREVENTS AND CONTROLS SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES, AND CARPENTER ANTS
FOR USE ON TURFGRASS (INCLUDING SOD FARMS, LANDSCAPE ORNAMENTALS, FRUIT AND NUT TREES AND INTERIOR PLANTSCAPES.

Q Will Dominion 2L kill my plants or trees?
If I spray it around the exterior of my house what will it do to my plants & trees?
A When used as directed on the product label, Dominion 2L will not harm your trees or plants. Dominion 2L is actually labeled to use directly on trees and other plants for control of plant infesting insects. Please read the product label to learn how to correctly use Dominion 2L on vegetation.

I had a terrible time with termites.

Use this.

Although I see activity outside tripping these off, I have not seen any live termite damage to the house in 15 years. I use about 30 of these a year. And I have some around a big tree 200 year oak I want to keep the termites away from.
