Telling 'haze' pheno from 'skunk' pheno

Hey, Ill be growing some jock horror from nirvana soon and I need to know what a haze pheno looks like vs. what a skunk pheno looks like, wouldnt they both just look like typical sativas? Ive searched allready, I just dont know what a haze pheno looks like in veg, or why it would look different from a skunk pheno. As you may allready know Jack Herer, the original strain, is nl x skunk x haze, and supposedly the haze pheno is the best which is what ill be trying to find in this pack of jock horor seeds (rumored to be JH crossed with a nirvana house skunk)

hi smoke rings

Jack Herer [Sensi Seeds]

indica end -

mid / sativa end -

the sativa / haze ends (sorry no photo) are much more elongated with a spicey silver flower,,, they can go 100days+, grow tall and bushy needing string to support the many branches. these are the plants with the longest leaf patterns and internodal gaps in veg. lots of love n light needed to produce

hope this helps
peace dL :joint:

Nice pics
Look at JH pic in Sensi´s cat. Those big swollen calyxes look more like Skunk:D

Cool thanks guys. I was trying to tell if theres any way to see in veg though, so that I can cull before flowering since space is at a premium for me. Should I look for tall internodes, that kinda stuff?

here was my Jock horror right before chop....

i had a skunky Nl pheno finished at around 60 days

as for the haze pheno it should have more skinny longer leaves

this seems like a good strain that will grow large and frosty easily. coloradro what did you think of it? did it have a good kick potency wise?

well i actually got my Jock Hooror from a buddy who says it was Afghani but somehow got mixed up and i got the JH...

as far as potency wise i used to call it Jock Lock cause it would straight up put you in the couch :pointlaug

as far as potency wise it may be thye most potent strain i have grown that comes from seed and it is a really nice smoke that is for sure

i got lil over 100 grams off of 1 plant and chose not to keep her around due to new things that came my way but believe me if i ever wanted a cheap good strain i would definately grab a few packs of the Jock horror and give her a run again...

i hope this helps as i looked everywhere also to find info on this strain when i was growing it

If you want the real deal Jack Herer, your not going to find it in one of Nirvana's shit strains. There breeding is BS, and you'd find better phenos out of most bagseed. I've grown several of nirvana's "sativas" (haze and jock horror) and neither were as described. Most of my phenos from both strains were indica dominated. Every nirvana strain turns purple, when most of the real deals have never been shown to turn purple. I think they have one mediocore strain that they throw into packs and label them different. Luckily i haven't touched nirvanas seeds in awhile, your better off spending the extra money for the real deal, or going with another cheap seed company that is a REAL breeder (mandala, TFD, annac, MOD, etc.)

As far as actual jock herer (not horror) phenos. It's hard to tell the difference between the skunk and haze phenos as they both are heavily sativa influenced. But, obviously the more sativa the pheno is...the more likely it is a haze leaning pheno. I say grow out several females, choose the one that has the most sativa traits and clone her if your looking a haze pheno. The skunk isn't a pure sativa like the haze, but still will look sativa dominated. Although if it's a skunk pheno the yield should be alot higher than the other phenos and have some skunky undertones to her.

Yeah good question, what did you guys find to be the keeper phenos? Excellent posts so far

Jack Herer [Sensi Seeds] ranges.

1 -a quicker flowering NL/sk#1 type (popular when cloned for dutch coffeeshops). dense formation, short, very sticky, 60-70days... isn't the JH experience in IMO.
2 - a mid-way cross, 4ft, that exhibits all 3 parents 77-85days. much more like it! :D
3- a longer flowering sativa type growing much taller taking 85-100days +. this one is for the dedicated! :joint:

*there are further varients in-between these basic types. which make-up x5 types in lineage overall. all are good to toke. in flavour they range from hashy to musky to spicey the further from indica to sativa we grow the more transluscent things become. this makes JH a great plant to work out and get to grips with the profiles on offer. and allows for staged harvesting. :canabis:

the middle range plants (77-85days) are best to work with in any number/clones. mother plants are most reliable and produce healthy plants when rooted. but the sativa ends are unique, if yo got sharp scissors, lots of space and don't mind the wait!

most of these shots are middle end... 77-85day bloom. (workable type) perhaps some are little earlier in places

70-77day

85day +

only played with Jock Herer [HGF] once,,,, t'was very different from the JH, so wouldn't like to / can't comment on that one.

peace out

250w MH for veg, any where from 400 to 600 HPS for flower. Soil. Flowering space is at a premium so they will most likely be LST'd... its not an ideal grow by any means, but it should definately let me a get a feel for the strain
