Taking clones in flower???

Hello all @ IC...I am a OG refugee, and I appreciate all of your hospitality. So, I have 9 plants in flower right now, about 4 days only, and they have yet to show sex. I was wondering, when they do show sex, is it OK to take clones??? Will they take longer to root??? Can I put them directly into flowering once they root?? any help would be great. :joint:

the quicker you take them in veg the less time it takes them to go back to that state from flower......it will be fine, just take some when they show sex. I've taken some 3 weeks into flower.Best of luck

They will root just fine but they may take a little longer to show vegative growth.
Ive taken clones like 6 weeks into flower and they rooted fine and then kept budding for a good month before they started to grow.
Just dooo it

I'd say go for it also. It'll just take them a little longer to show vegetative growth. You'd most likely be trimming off some of the lower branches anwayz to focus more growth on the upper colas, so i'd take a cutting or 2 from the lowest branches. -Opt

thanks all, but can I put them back under 12/12 after they root??? Should I root them with 12/12 light???

no you should root them under 24/0 and after they root up give a good dose of 20-20-20 or the like and keep vegging them until they show signs of new growth ..

unobtainium is on the right track. I have built a special grow closet lit by 10 - 40 watt cfl's to root cutting, do a little vegging and to keep a bosai mom or two. The CFL's are on 24/0. When I want to flower any plant(s) they get transfered under 2 -1000 watts of Hortilux HPS.

This way I can keep a steady stream of plants flowering and vegging on a 2 week rotation to avoid the feast and famine way of growing.

The pic shows a rooting chamber (right) which is a rubbermaid high top plastic storage container with about 2 dozen cuttings inside, 3 large containers with 4 plants each soon to go under the hps and a new cutting to become a bonsai mom.

Good Luck

thanks for the advice all...Shrike, I wish I could grow some moms, but i dont have the space...I just put together an ez cloner from a post I saw here, so as soon as I get sex, im gonna take some clones and put them under a cfl. After they root, i will put them under the HPS for flowering. This should work??right???I only have a tiny 2x2x4 closet to grow in, and its packed with 9 plants right now!!!

I think it'll work as this is what I do when I'm in production! LOL small as it is.

My picture shows 3 containers that have 4 plants each (just about ready to move under the HPS), sexed cuttings of course. I have found that vegging up to 12" is economical under cfls, and flowering at that point under HPS in a dense sea of green fashion, with 3 containers x 4 plants each every 2 weeks, gets a nice little production going.

When I have things at peak production I have 12 containers x 4 plants each harvesting 3 containers and adding 3 new containers every 2 weeks or there about under 2000 watts Hortilux.

You can also see the rubbermaid container rooting the next set of plants for my 2 week rotation. Although I admit I'm not exactly accurate to the day, nor do I care.

I'll take some pic of my flower garden soon, but I've only got about 2 weeks of flowering in so its not to impressive yet. Maybe this weekend if I have some time!

Good Luck
