Really like the thread ZZ. I'm using a 4ftx8 tube T5 in a 4ftx4ftx6ft tent with 2 inline fans
(440 cfm rated). I'm a total noob grower. Have you ever had trouble with a T5 being too close and causing minor cupping of a seedling leaf? It doesn't seem to bother either of the auto flowers I have under it but the two pineapple chunk seedlings seem to be a little sensitive. I'll post some photos shortly.

Alright, thanks for the info! I'm going to try and go organic soil next round so this helps.

I don't really know what my problem is with the Hempy's. This is my first grow so it's all an experiment at this point, but I think my main problem is the reservoir isn't getting replenished enough. Two of the plants drink through their res no problem, but the other two don't really ever drain theirs, and even though I drain to waste they seem to have some algae/slime buildup. So now, I have fungus gnats, I also had spider mites, and I burnt them all with one heavy feeding and now they all seem to have some major nute deficiency.

Basically my problems stem from being a total greenhorn at this. I need something a little more foolproof for my dumbass!

Jebe3...

Wow... Looks like you got all the problems over with the first grow..."-)

With the HB you have to water every day at first till the roots hit the res., sounds like the roots never got there. Covering the medium will stop the algae but check it often. As far as the mites I have one word, Seeds... Cuts are always going to be risky...

If you go with the soil mix as I listed and use just the BC Pro Grow & Pro Bloom at half the dosage on the bottle but feed every watering you will have great results. 2LC in this thread had his first grow using this method and throw almost a pound...

If you other ? just drop a line...

Clones finally budding. They were taken while mother was flowering. Bad idea.

8 bulbs

UVL; 4 Red Life, 1 Aquasun
ZooMed; 2 Florsun
Wave Point; 1 Coral Wave

I have one UVL 660 for later on. Will replace the AS, but will reposition so the 660 is in the middle

Nutes Hydroponic-Research VEG+BLOOM (da bomb!)

Day 28 of flower cycle and al is OK. I had one that went Herm on me ,the HazyOg.I spotted a male flower early but in my noobness thought it was a foxtailing flower. It opened and all the lower flowers seeded. I pulled the whole thing using it to practise curing. I wiped everything down and have seen no other effects 5 days later.

I finally worked then into full doses of the nute sytem.(556ppm)Using DynaGro nutes. They also like watering everyday, using nutes everyother day. Was wondering since Im using less intense lights if my flowering time should be extended a week from the recommended flowering time? I dont want to cut out nutes too soon, and I want to make sure I harvest only when its ready.
Ideas , suggestions and comments welcomed.

Looking Great SS, Nice and Frosty...

Yes the T5's can take a little longer but it's a case by case thing and not always the case. As we were talk'n about the Uppy effect of taking early bud, sometimes it's best that way. I usually stop feeding in the 7th or 8th week then flush 7 to 10 days...

Look foreword to the photos...

If your in a cab sounds like you need a little more air movement, I like to have a fan blowing across the canopy as well as the in-lines exchanging the air in the cab...

With T5's I like to be 2" or 3" above the canopy, you can get closer but it dose not give the light enough room to spread out a little...

I have plenty of air moving oscilating fan, 2 inlines one pulling into tent and one pulling out.
They are 2 Barney's Farm Pineapple Chunk, Greenhouse Auto Sweet Mango in back, and Delicious Seeds Auto Critical Jack Herrer, you don't see them but I have a Mazar Kush and OG Kush seedlinds in cups. I transplanted into big pots cause I didn't want any possibility of shock later on. As I said I'm a noob so if I'm wrong let me know.

I'll be setting up this T-5 in a closet as soon as the seedlings are ready to have the 600 watt turned on them. Guess I'll have to get another inline and some ducting for the closet. Hoping to try my hand at cloning and try to keep a mom around for awhile or maybe even switch out four of the grow bulbs with flower bulbs and try a complete cycle under the T5 as well, who knows as I said I'm a noob but I did take my time and put together what I hope is a good start.

OOO'those Look Very Nice...:tiphat:

I guess that's the problem with growing different strains, they're different...lol

At this early stage I would not worry about it, they normally grow out of it...

Good question. When I bought the BB I also bought 8 each Quantum grow and flower bulbs. I was in mid-veg when I came across a thread on another site titled ~ LED Without LEDs, My T5 Grow, which is about using monochromatic bulbs (ala leds). I made a few mistakes following the monochromes, but that led to advancing my light knowledge. I now know monochrome works, but, they are not the be all end all. All PAR spectrums are important, it's the ratios that bring the magic.

Since taking those photos on Friday, the buds are much more pronounced

Lookin great ZZTop.

Clones are really good, but unknown strain. Got lots of positive feedback from those who smoked the mother.

Got a pair of ladies from a new breeder (BrandX) in my led tent

Your grow spot looks surgical. Clean n' tidy.

...mine is usually a cluster fuck. I use the polly myself and think its great. (read: low maintenence and I'm lazy) If time, money, and space were not an issue would/have you considered side lighting?
