Super Hydro grow from scratch. *Help Needed*

Hello All, been reading and researching on these boards and others for a few months now and finally after some careful decision making I have decided to take the plunge and start my first grow.

Let me first start off by saying that I have a bit off experience growing some bag seeds out doors with semi decent results. This is my first serious grow and certainly my first indoor grow. I still have a lot to learn as I go along. I would appreciate it if anyone with experience that decides to drop by to take a look returns once in a while to hopefully help me get any set up issues resolved.

My system is a classic 48 bucket Ebb N' Grow with a 55 gallon reservoir. The Lighting is 2 x 1000watt sunmaster Super HPS lamps with reflectors. I am using Sensei Bloom and Sensei grow 2 part nutes. I have a PPM pen and a digi TDS pen and PH tester. I am using hydroton as the medium. I just unpacked all of my equipment yesterday and made sure everything I ordered was there. Today I will rinse the hydroton and fill my Ebb buckets as well as work on lining the room with mylar and getting everything into place.


I purchases seeds a few weeks ago as well as putting an order in for 98 clones.

Right now

13 haze sprouts (Sex undetermined)
8 White widow sprouts (Sex Undetermined)

48 Kashmire Mist Clones
12 OG Purple Kush Clones
12 Lemon Kush Clones
12 Northern Lights Clones
12 Isis Clones

All Clones Female and currently rooting in rockwool
Sprouts are in a seed starter kit and are being kept under 24h CFL light

Sounds like a nice set up. I know the ebb n grow systems pull fat.

Okay just an update.

The Ebb N' Grow reservoir and controller unit are set up and all the tubing has been connected, the instructions with this system are kind of broad but it was easy to set up.

I have begun rinsing the hydroton, since its 20 degrees out I have to rinse it in the bathtub and fill each inner bucket with the wet semi rinsed rocks, followed by rinsing the filler bucket under a faucet for 30 seconds. After I finish this tedious rinsing and filling I will figure out a layout for all 48 buckets.

You really should rinse the rocks as best as possible. You will notice more fluctuations in your ph most likely if you dont. A lot of hydro growers soak their rocks. It also might be hard to stuff 24 buckets under a 1000 watter. The lumens most likely wont cover that many plants. Maybe look into some light movers? Not tellin you what to do just a thought is all.

Finished setting up the Mylar and Bubble buckets last night, Sprouts are looking very healthy with the exception of 1-2 which look kind of small.

I'll take some pics today.

Good luck bro! Have you ever had any experience with hands on hydro before? Or will this be a trial by fire...er... umm...cough... first time I mean? I'm here for ya, if ya need a little assistance. Which 48 clones are ya gunna run first? Proly not a good idea to run several different strains at once. Nutrient profiles are likely to be different.

Looks like one of my Widow sprouts isn't growing. The widow is about 4-5 days behind the Haze as far as when the seeds were germinated.

Any info come with this hybrid? Would hate to find out, as you go...yaknow?? I'm guessing, it's a KaliMist hyb. I got 10 KM's going right now...just started them actually. My first time with the pure KM from serious seeds. Any pics of your setup yet?

Thanks for Taking interest good sir, The Kashmire Mist is a great strain, I think they grower I am getting the clones from made it by crossing 2 plants himself since I could not find the strain online, I can tell you though this guy is a good friend he wouldn't steer me wrong, Out of all the strains I listed he recommends this one for the best overall yielder without sacrificing quality of smoke. I know the finished product is amazing as I went through over 10 ounces of this stuff last semester. He is going to let me know the particular likes and dislikes of this plant as far as environment and nute set up.

Heres a little pic for the haze, and the widow in the backround. I don't have pics of the clones as I am waiting for them to root at my friends house. I'll take pics of the actual setup of equipment sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Xplanted the young plants from seeds into 1/2 gallon pots. Put up a 1000 watt HPS about 3 feet away with a floor fan circulating air and preventing too much heat buildup.

I'll take a picture in a little bit and put it up tonight. The surface temp under the light is about 79-81 degrees.

Ghetto Rigged while we get the lights hung from the ceiling.
Temp under the lights is 79-82 degrees with lights on. Fan is blowing cool air over the pots. Humidity is low at 35-40% but that will be fixed when the bubble buckets are filled with solution and running.

Hmmm, temp was sitting at 82 degrees at soil surface under the lights when I went in this morning to water!

Yes rinse them realy well , fill bath tube with water and dump them in it gibe them a good swirl around and then take them out with a big siv (can get them for a few euro in and hoem store or pound shops) then use rinse them under tap or shower while in siv and then dumb them in to bucket . even at that when emptying res u will see some dust off of them in it , but you can easiely clean tht out .
