Sulfur Burner / Vaporizer

I purchased a Sulfur Burner to help battle a continuos influx of bud mold and powdery mildew. I have been keeping the humidity at around 40-50 during the day, but the night humidity is still floating up to 60%. I have tried daconil, but it builds up quickly and I'm still having issues.

So on advice from another grower I bought a sulfer burner.

It comes with sulfur in little pellets and you add about 2cm to a little metal cup and place it on the warming unit - then you are supposed to walk away and let it burn off. The problem is, it doesn't just burn off - the shit never seems to go away. I know it is working, it smells f-ing terrible, but there is still liquid in the burner after hours...

The directions it came with suck nuts and the guys at the store couldn't tell me anything either,,, can someone please tell me how to use this thing?

From my experience in using one, it MAYBE burned a little fluid away.. i'm not completly sure this stuff is suppsoed to burn/evaporate away... at least not very fast any ways.. I wouldn't burn it more then five/ten minutes a day.. there are so many varrying degrees of how much people say to burn but this is SULFUR.. its not shit to mess around with..

Why are you getting bud mold and powdery mildew? do you have a space heater? an a/c? a dehumidifyer? get some ventilation and circulation fans going..

Lots of air movement, powerful dehumidifiers, fresh air when the temps get above 80,,, I'm thinking it's just almost impossible to get rid of once you've gotten it. It started after a 3 day power outage during a heavy rainstorm this spring. It's gotten better with added controls, but I just can't seem to eradicate it.

i agree with you that its impossible to get rid of... damn near it at least..

my advice would be to bleach everything once you harvest.. if you can.. scrub the walls with a mild bleach hoods lights everything in the grow room.. the rainy season will do it.. ESPECIALLY with one coming up, you may not make it through.. as from my admitted experience with a sulfur burner, i have had problems with pm.. and i'm expecting to in the future. its just part of gardening.. but i would sanitize it..

A few years ago I had a PM mess... I got a burner... and used it.

during lights out... turn your ventilation off... and run it for a few hours... every other day for a week... and then twice a week... and monthly as needed.

PM issue was resolved... its never come back.

This was in a basement area... 12 x 12 room.

Sulfur cookers definitely do the trick, Strainwhore. The instructions on mine specified that for heavy treatment, 7-8 hours per night is indicated. PM can be a bitch to get rid of; I'd ALMOST rather have mites (almost).

Cheers!
