Bingo.

Molasses is some good stuff. I used to add green sand and kelp to my organic soil mix, plus I would add cal mag to my RO water. Molasses adds everything Cal-Mag has (plus many other trace elements), and gives my plants the potassium they need. I feed molasses from start to finish and it has saved me an arm and a leg in Cal-mag and many potassium amendments/supplements. A combo of amended soil with lime, Bloodmeal, Bonemeal and spiced up with guano/molasses tea for the win. I grow the best bud I ever have for a fraction of what I used to. I used to be suckered by all the hype marketing.... not anymore.

These pics were taken 3 weeks ago, they're growing into the greenouse ceiling now. Widow is ten foot tall now.

Dry Molasses
Dry molasses isn’t really straight dried molasses. It’s molasses sprayed on a grain residue carrier. It’s an excellent carbon source that stimulates beneficial microorganisms. And, it repels fire ants.

Molasses Sweet syrup that is a carbohydrate used as a soil amendment to feed and stimulate microorganisms. Contains sulfur, potash, and many trace minerals. Approximate analysis is 1-0-5. Molasses provides food for microorganisms and is a source of carbon, sulfur, and potash. It is a good, quick source of energy for the soil life and microbes in a compost pile, and will chase fire ants away. It is a carbon source and feeds beneficial microbes creating greater nature fertility. Liquid molasses is used in sprays and dry molasses is used as an ingredient in organic fertilizers. It contains sulfur, potash, and other trace minerals. Excellent foliar feeding material and can be mixed with other organic liquids. Use at 2-4 quarts/acre for soil application. For foliar application on broadleaf plants use 1 pint per acre. For grasses and grains still use 1 quart per acre. Blackstrap molasses is the best choice because it contains the sulfur and iron of the original material.

Molasses is the best sugar for horticultural use because of its trace minerals. Blackstrap is hard to find but is the best molasses because of the sulfur and iron, but any kind will work. Molasses is a carbon source and feeds the beneficial microbes creating greater natural plant fertility. Molasses also has a nice side benefit. When used with compost tea and orange oil, it kills fire ants and other insect pests. By itself, molasses repels fire ants effectively.

enjoy your garden!

Thanks, saved me some time.

those NPK #'s are a miss. Dont know exactally what products you looked at. But I actually went to my hydro shop and asked and said show me what there is and how they work!

well if you know what they are and how they work, may I nicely ask why you have not posted the new found information here?

I appreciate the info at the beginning of this thread. GPB - Are you endorsing and saying these products work or are you just copying the product descriptions?

I remember some one by the name of Texas Kid who did the same, copy and paste info that I can find online or at my local hydro store catalog bookshelf.

I've used Sugar Daddy in coco and GH's Flora Nector (FN) in F&D buckets system with no problems but no noticeable positives but I will use FN again on my current coco grow because my room condition are much more controlled and so far I've been as perfect as can be with my maintenance. Plus I hope to see a difference since I got two difference systems with the same strain, dwc with a couple of coco buckets. Don't use FN or maybe any other high in sugar type of product because the FN caused the roots in my dwc system to turn brown and I think it was brewing the sugars also causing some foaming. Do a small bucket test first for dwc systems.

Great looking plants Relief.

Botanicare Sweet. I like the berry myself. Don't go a grow without it.

I do the same, when growing hydro. I use sweet and I too prefer Berry. An excellent sweetener for hydroponic grows. I've used Molasses successfully in drip systems and flood & drain (actually worked quite well), but was a disaster in my DWC runs.

I have used Molasses for my outdoor grows with good results. But im a soil guy. Not hydro needless to say hydro nutes and supplements are only for hydro!

From what I got there are complex sugars and more simple ones. That do different things to the plants. One of them was more for dirt and roots and some are more for the plant/leaf/stem part of what we're doing. Like the ones that can be foliar sprays and the ones that cant be!

jlve187, one tablespoon per gallon.

Well.. the "hydro guy" is an idiot or is trying to sell an expensive sweetener. Black strap molasses is all you need, for soil, flood & drain, NFT and drip systems. It also replaces cal-mag and potassium supplements. You can even use the feed store molasses, even if it has propionic acid (I have for years).

EVERY sweetener you have mentioned is COMPLETELY inferior except for use in aeroponics and dwc, and thats only because it will clog sprayers.

Picture taken today, they seem to be kicking ass with regular, non special feed store animal molasses.

Yes, grandmas is perfect. Look on the ingredients label, it'll say calcium, magnesium and other trace elements (thumbs up). Yes, it will mix very nicely.

How much K (potassium) is in the three part GH fertilzer? If 5 percent out 1/2 tbsp and if 10 percent put 1/4 a tablespoon, then double the amount two weeks into flower.

I have about 4 plants that are just hitting the 2 week mark?? so should i just put the full tablespoon?? Also doesnt say anything about K but it has k20 in i think the 3 bottles!

I would go with 1/2 a tablespoon first and see how they respond, because I dont know how much K you're already putting into the plants.

Aslo, GH is for hydroponics for future reference. You have to be careful as roots take up nutrient differently in soil than they do in hydro.

Ok thanks but on the site that sold them to me they said it would be ok for soil as well as my hempy buckets???

Thanks jlve187, I went to GH's site and they do indeed say its ok for soil. This must have changed because my older 3 part bottles used to say, "for hydroponics only". Sweet info, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

CAN GH NUTRIENTS BE USED IN SOIL?

Answer: Absolutely! All of our nutrient blends contain the necessary elements for plant growth. Start with the formula ratios identified on the label for the specific plant or crop you are growing, and then adjust and experiment until you find the right formula for your specific need.

not at all... no common flavoring. ick. if it did i wouldnt use it.
it seems to brings out more of the natural flavors your buds already have... its like tasting the buds in HD, so to speak. AND THE BERRY ORIGNAL SWEET IS ORGANIC, TOO.

From what i can tell from grows with and without, the grows WITH are more resinous and have stronger (not enhanced) aromas than the grows done without.

that said i didn't care for the citrus at all... and i won;t blooom without Sweet.
