When I was living in Philthadelphia, they were subs or hoagies, unless they were heated...then they were grinders.

I used to go to this "Hero Shop" Run by an Italian guy, his wife and other family members. The heros were outstanding a BLT hero with about halfpound of bacon mayo and the L&T . With a tall coke, man oh man talk about heaven. Cheeseburger heroes, eggplant, of course meatball and veal cutlet. Wow! They put Subway to shame. The Italians sold the place after forty five years to some guy that kept the same name but sells Spanish food. It wasn't bad but not like the original. I miss that place. Now a Jamacian friend of mine opened a "Jerk" place and I'm on to that chicken "Jerk" done just right with some plantains, rice and beans is where its at. Not to mention all the guys form the island there it's a real party.
