Smoke experience more like the terpiest aged dry sift, as opposed to rosin.
Forgive me if I’ve missed it, but have you tried aging your hash under vacuum in the fridge?
Peace
Yea iv seen n heard of it mate I'm sure I was doin it like that before I even heard about it years ago, some top hash guru told me to try drying the more sticky meaty stuff that I cudnt grate or separate in the freezer n keep making the water come to surface of hash n freeze n then keep taking ot out letting it dry n evaporate all the frozen water vapor n keep putting it back to freeze till when u take it out that there's no more frozen water vapour on it and that it feels hard n dry n it made the stuff come out lookin like rosin or shatter man proper good method.. obs gotta start woth good fresh frozen iweHave you heard of piatella @subrob?
Cold cured aged water hash, focusing on terp preservation and expression.

It looks so good I could eat those little chunks as if it was chocolate, would eating this like they are get me high? It is to unlock the effect of THC that you press it with heat?Wow...I forgot I started this thread!
Ok...some pics from the run I just started
A non-perfect static run, followed by an old fashioned, second run, traditional chunk.
The static is the lighter colored, soap bar chunk.
These two chunks are made from the gelato split.
Pressed using a hybrid version of Frenchy's technique. Instead of a wine bottle, I used my rosin press, at 100°f, for 20 and 30 minute press times. 1 to 3 minutes at a time, then pull, fold up or roll into ball, back into the press. In katbite parchment paper.(Hippy approved). Repeat. The light colored static got 30 minutes total, the darker got 20. You can smell and feel once it's activated. I'm still dialing it in. Just learning. View attachment 19167329

I'm not sure if it's fully decarb'd. I used the term activated to describe that .... moment when the hash ...comes together? Lol. When you check it in between presses and roll it in your hands, and flatten and fold, and the oils are right, the texture..the aroma. It looks so good I could eat those little chunks as if it was chocolate, would eating this like they are get me high? When I make my water hash I follow frenchy method b ut around me they don't proceed the loose resin the same way and are able to make pieces who crumble like moroccan hash, it is easier to make joints this way but I don't know what is the best way to get the better high from your resin.
It was 62°f in the room when I sifted...so it was warm...I usually do it at night in the winter...lol.Nice work! Using the rosin press is a nice way to work the resin. What temperature are you sieving at? Our winters are very mild here so it’s difficult to dry sift without a cold room. I managed to make a few chunks a couple of years back when we had a few days at zero degrees but I’m going to have to wash everything i have to sift in a couple of days.
I see exactly what you mean when you say the moment the hash comes together, there is clear difference in the texture you can feel by touch when you work it.I'm not sure if it's fully decarb'd. I'm going to be doing the rest of that trim on the picture. Going to experiment with cold pressing and straight up working by hand.
Like I said ..I'm just learning and I've got a long way to go.
That light colored, static chunk is completely stable at room temp...just roll it around in hand for 20 seconds and can just roll a little snake for a hash-hole joint. Or you can just pinch into small pieces to roll in w flower. Haven't got to the darker chunk yet...but it is stickier. Was hell getting it out of the cellophane. End up just turning it inside out to grab the chunk.I see exactly what you mean when you say the moment the hash comes together, there is clear difference in the texture you can feel by touch when you work it.
I would like to document how one of my friend process his resin because he has some excellent results but his hash texture is completely different than the one I get by following Frenchy's method. In can't tell if one is better than the other but I like the easiness it gives to roll your joint compared to my hash who can a PITA to work with being so greasy, I have to keep it cold to work it easily.
From the pics you're already doing an excellent job and it can only get better with more experience.
Yeah cold temperatures are the key to success with dry sifting. I need to get a cool bot to get low enough to get a good yield and not gum the screens up.It was 62°f in the room when I sifted...so it was warm...I usually do it at night in the winter...lol.
Upgrading my house AC in May, before summer hits...so I'll be able to cool things down pretty well. I've also set up the portable AC in my 8 ft tent and dry sifted, but it's being used right now.
That's the texture of your static chunk I'd like to get but to do this I think I have to stop following Frenchy's method to the T, it's when I press with heat maybe too much that it becomes a grease ball extremely difficult to break in small pieces to make a joint. The only option is making small snakes but I feel like I waste a lot of it when it's smoked this way. That light colored, static chunk is completely stable at room temp...just roll it around in hand for 20 seconds and can just roll a little snake for a hash-hole joint. Yup. It's easier. When I cooled down my empty tent and sifted in there...it was noticeably faster results.Yeah cold temperatures are the key to success with dry sifting. I need to get a cool bot to get low enough to get a good yield and not gum the screens up.
How long do you cure your hash for?
Could be the genetics? I love bubble...and lately I've tried some room temp stable ...last couple years I've had the best I've ever tried, but I don't know the new developments...the new techniques..like freeze driers..but ...whatever it is...I like it!View attachment 19167393
Love/hate relationship with bubble hash. It’s just inconveniently messy. No matter how clean I start out a session…after a few it turns into a hassle to keep things from getting sloppy. I keep it in the fridge or it just sticks to everything.
The high is clean

I know different strains will have different resin but they all become very greasy once I use the hot bottle method, even sandy resin will become super gooey after, I might do something wrong maybe.Could be the genetics? I've had some pretty greasy strains
Will see how the no heat press goes in the next couple days, next time I do a run.
