When we grow our plants indoors, we are playing God with them. I started growing in 1999 and my veg plants have always been under light 24 hours a day. When they go into flower is a straight 12 hours a day. Never grown anyways besides that, and I wonder why it is that you veg18 hours a day. I understand the concept of following the sun, but when you’re indoors, the sun has absolutely no value to the plants…I’m curious
I have exactly the same schedule. 24 hour veg and 12 hour flower. I guess 18 would save money with a big grow. I don't veg that long, and tend to cram favorite indicas in flower about 12 to 18 inches tall.

I’ve done both ways I start out 24 hours and wait for my net to fill up then before going to 12/12 I let on a bit of darkness 18/6 fo a couple of weeks so they won’t be shocked but I guess there is no need to really. I have forgotten to change the lights to 18/6 too with no ill effects.

Yes could you please make something nice for my boring containers. With good graphics we could get twice the price 😁
I googled and this came up:

that is a dance that I sometimes fail at , matching indoor time to outdoor time , I have had my share of plants go into flower and then back to veg , what a clusterfvck

i have matched the hours right down to 5 minutes but have had some plants go into flower when put outdoors , around here that would be around May 21st

what is a mystery to me is our volunteer plants…

some came up this year the first week in April and they are chugging along , none go into flower even though in April the light is about 12-12

why dont the volunteers go into flower?

bak to the books!

Seedlings are not light aware in the immature stage (first 30 days) and can be direct started outside May 1st or sooner depending on latitude.

Clones and mature seedlings (stair stepping branching) are all to light sensitive and the slightest mismatch in lighting will trigger flower sure as anything.

14.5 is the trigger point for most strains so starting seedling on the lowest combo 15-9 is the best for plants you intend to transition to outside. Placed out on June 1st will avoid 95% of the preflower issues you run into.

I got tired of bad timers and reveged plants in summer and just light them up 24-0 at set out. Kill the lights Aug 1st and let them flower as they should. It solved all my problems, and the total watt draw is under 50.
Trimmed all the giant beautiful fan leaves off the cap junky tent. I hate to pluck such beautiful leaves but do find it easier to maintain in the long run in my small tent. Still these plants are beautiful. I plan to up pot these soon maybe even today if I get the gumption. I need to get a net over them to fill out this tent before they get too tall

the outside plants 10 of them are also getting up potted and we shall wait for hopefully 4 females from this group. It feels strange to have such little plants this late as mine are usually 3 ft high by now. Still, I decided to wait this year and start them from scratch outside in order to prevent any re vegging that I hate to deal with. I’m hope that starting them later will fix that but we shall see

15-9 or 16-8 for plants destined for outside. Set out June 1st for most of the northern hemisphere. I'm at latitude 33 and in real world application only June and July have long enough days to veg cannabis. Aug 1st the days have already shortened enough to start flower as the plants show mid-month.

The endless summer weather in so cal lets me use the outside off season as a giant flower room. I get 3 out of cycle harvests Jan 1st, March 15th, June 1st. I've been working outside most of the last 50 years with the last 12 experimenting with just how far I can push Cannabis under various light cycles.

My little medical issue has tossed a rock through the window of my grow so to speak and I've got 6 inch plants set out where they are usually 2 or 3 feet by this time. Tossed all the extra clones in pots and what I can't do in size I'll cover with numbers.

Mine are much younger for this time of year as well. These went outside as seedlings. They are getting use to being outside now the stems are thickening up with the wind and they have been thru a few showers. I’m looking for 4 females outta these as four is the limit here. Too early now to know yet but I’m hoping for a better chance of nothing revegging this year.

checked the outside plants for sex today and found one girl so far. Hopeing the others will start showing soon so I can pick the best 4 for my yard. They will be planted in big bags this year as the city will be tearing into my backyard in October and I want them moveable. This one is snowcaine x triangle kush

‘the cap junky x Rosetta Stone clones are taking their time I think. The seeds were the same. The C99 jumped right outta the seed case and the Rosetta Stone took their sweet time

I don't know if you remember, but I bought a pack of Cap junky x C99. mostly on your excitement at scoring them A great deal for some intrerasting gentics. I'm looking forward to seeing how the clones respond. I should be able to start them around the middle to the end of July, depending on how long my Kush Mintz run. Probably ten weeks.

Your garden is spic and span...ah, hell I'm showing my age...lol 🌝

Checking in on the cap junky tent. It’s in its first week of flower. I started the new nutes which oh btw, I’m not really digging so far to much as they are dry nutes or well sorta dry kinda moist dry. I have to melt them down with warm water then use my mini whisk to desolve them good before adding them to my water can. I guess it will be all worth it if I get giant beautiful buds we will see about that tho. So far thru veg and flower no nute burn and I’ve been using it full strength. I’m still getting a lot of veg growth and have been defoliating every time I unzip the tent. The tent is running hot like in the 90s but the plants seem to be loving it. So far I’ve not had humidity issues but may install one more fan with this MarsHydro light which seems to run a but warmer than the spider farmer.
