i got my tomatoes in last week so they are already starting to grow well at least in the main bed, only have a bit more space to fill but that shouldnt be a problem since i still have seeds for a bunch of different things and plenty of growing season ahead of me...
You may not vote on any more threads today *:/ * Maters are fillin the windows at this point.... Might not have the space to repot enough before they can go in ground ..... Getting nervous*
been working in the gardens all day...i can see i need some spinosad, got some little fuckers eating my cabbage, cut worms or some such...a little bti will knock them out...gonna get cantaloupe, zucchini and some butternut squash going tomorrow, those should fill most of the rest of the bed space...still have a bunch of seeds so i will see what i have and give it a shot...still plenty of time for planting here...i still have a small bed thats untouched...
Spent the day in my garden too. Got 45 peppers planted, 8 13' rows of different melons. Got straight neck squash, black beauty and golden zucchini. 3 types of string beans. Burpless and lemon cukes and 2 hills of gherkins. Reseeded some lettuce and radishes. Planted some green and purple onions. Even a little Kohlrabi. Busy day.
mostly landscape work for me today, built a flagstone step the other day, went back in and mortared the face stones in place and the top flagstones, used the last of the flagstone to build a dry layed wall to contain a small flower bed,got that planted....getting there slowly,i hope i dont kill too many plants its starting to get expensive...i did chose mostly self propagating plants that will spread and cover the ground....die bermuda grass die! watered the veggie garden with compost tea as well...i can see why so many old people take up gardening...you can spend endless hour puttering around in the garden, plus you get to work up a sweat and feel like you're doing honest labor! aside from trimming the mj garden actually takes way less time per week to deal with...
You've been a busy boy Unc. Funny how many dollars can get sunk into outdoor projects.
Hell, I have over $2600.oo in soil alone. then add in about $650.00 for block. Shit better start growing gold in them beds.
Carrots. Forgot to add the carrots to the replanted list. Need to piece and part some more beets too.
