Stress??

How much would my plant get stressed if I trim off some very unproductive branches during the 4th week of flower?? How would this affect my yield, flowering time, etc. Thes branches seem like they would be better off gone. They are not doing too well compared to the rest of the plant. It's two lower branches that I regret not removing earlier.

These branches are spindly with almost no progress & I wish I had removed them during veg. before transplanting & flipping 12/12.
Now I want to hack 'em off.

Any input from the IC Mag guru growers out there?? Thanks in advance to everyone who responds. I appreciate the input.

chop them off , if its only a couple branches i doubt you'll see any type stress at all . i do a helluva defoliation around the same time cuz i run a scrog net & don't get much stress from that . :)

cut and reveg them as clones, it is the right thing to do!
I agree on the cloning you mentioned, but where I'm at the plant count goes up. Since I only grow one plant for myself & I have some seeds still left for awhile that I bought, it would not be wise to do so. I wish I could take clones & flower them. It's actually three lower branches that look really green & healthy, great for cloning, but not flowering at all with the pace of the rest of the plant. It's an Auto Jack & this pheno looks the best out of two other plants that I already finished (as in smoked) so I'm waiting on these buds to finish & this pheno looks pretty bomb so far. Third one's the charm. I'm just beginning to do a Spicy White Devil grow next. I'll see how it goes.

Sounds awesome :) i'd recommend pruning tomorrow if you haven't done so already (1st day after new moon, could end up stimulating more growth!)

Dammit, I already did it...but I do see a fourth branch that is also pretty spindly, but this one actually shows very tiny buds with a few visible hairs. The other three looked like they were still in veg. I might give that fourth branch a go tomorrow. It would only have stayed because it shows like it's slightly beginning to bud, but this one too is behind & lagging behind the rest. It might help my plant more if I do it on the day (or night) after the new moon huh...hmm I might cut that one too then...
