Being that there are so many of us playing this game (Gears of War for Xbox 360), I thought I'd make a thread for us to discuss it. I have beat the game on Casual, now I'm working on it on Hardcore ranking. Live is pretty damn cool on this game as well. I'm off to play

Well...the area I'm in is the beginning of the 3rd Act..the Kryll cavern (?) I think..you walk along a pathway and you come to a door with a red skull on it..there's some grenades on the ground in front of the door but those don't seem to work..unless you could Melee the grenade to the door (get the grenade to stick to the door) then it might blow up?

I'll be online tomorrow morning from like 9AM to 1 or 2 PM so I'll look for you man and maybe we can play a game or two.

I've been playing it the past few days. Been playing multiplayer mostly, only an hour or so into the single player.

Well, if my PS3 venture works out, I'll be able to join the club here, with a brand new 360, HDTV, and GoW. I'm hopeful, and I think it's definitely a possibility. I've heard nothing but good things about the game, and I'm psyched to finally be able to get a HDTV to show off the graphics of the 360.

HD TV is so badass! I've been playing XBOX Live on my brother's HD with his Hi Speed internet connection and I am just blown away by the graphics on the HD TV...it seems to be the only real way to play.

I've been so busy with harvest and life I haven't had much of a chance to get online. I hope that changes soon, I have got to play a few games with Got_Bud, good times. I'm sure I'll see ya on there IUTG. Who else is playing Gears of War?

yeah word, i've beat it on hardcore so far...just started insane.

but mainly i've been playing multiplayer. single player gets a little repetitive.

If anyone wants to play on live, coop or just battles send me a pm and we can exchange gamer tags. maybe we could get a room of 8 icmagers to play for a while.

The PS3 venture didn't work out, but I had my mind set on a HDTV and GoW. So... I'm going to Best Buy in hopes of getting a 32" HDTV on Black Friday. God I'm not looking forward to it...

And I'll be ordering a 360 premium, GoW, Viva Pinata, a 2 year replacement plan for the 360, and a wireless controller charger for $500. Hopefully I'll be playing soon, this plan might work out. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I've played in a couple of online matches with both Budgood and Used to Grow, good times.



One thing about the multiplayer in this game that drives me absolutely batty - People who don't support each other. I was playing against some friends with some new people that were pretty good, they just would offer no support. (No one from here.)

They'd call out enemy positions, and then let them walk by instead of engaging them, pinching me between two groups. And they wondered why we kept getting our asses handed to us.

So my piece of advice is this. If you're supposed to be covering someone, please attempt to cover them and suppress the enemy just a bit.

Oh, and if you are going somewhere specifically on the map, call it out (Headed to Boomshot, headed to Sniper, etc. If you don't know the maps, follow someone who does. That's what I did, and now I know the maps pretty well.) and make sure someone comes with you. That's the key to winning this game in multiplayer - communication. I have seen on multiple occasions a group of moderate players who talk to each other wipe out a team of excellent players who don't talk to each other.

So in summation: This game blows my mind and infuriates me at the same time. That's a keeper in my book.

hey Niki the song is called Mad World by Gary Jules off the Donie Darko soundtrack good song but sad...anyways I got the game and beat it in a couple of days was kinda dissapointed but suppose it'll be more of a challenge on the hardest setting still though, good thing it has online or id be pissed lol only thing I can rag about the online play is that once you die that it no coming back, is there any way to change this? The game is so beautiful and I love how you only see your gun on the screen and not all this other junk.

I'm of the opinion that respawns would ruin this game. The whole key to winning 4v4 matches is teamwork. If there is no penalty for dying early (i.e.; your team losing), it would make for people just running headlong at each other, kill or be killed, and respawn. No challenge or tactics in that if you ask me. (Just like Halo 2 )

The group of guys I've been playing online a lot with all communicate extremely well. They say where there going, why, and what they'll be doing afterwards. They call out enemy positions when they see them, and work with their teammates to guide them in behind the baddies. This in and of itself is essential to team victories.

And everyone of them will tell you that they aren't that good. But the key to winning is teamwork.

True I get your point, but still it would be even better if there was a gamemode where you could just go right in head on and get killed and respawn and then another gamemode just like they have it now, no respawns etc. I do get what your saying though about teamwork, but when your like me and dont play very often and dont have a team to play with and you get stuck with random people teamwork is often hard when you have 2 of your players charging head in and getting killed etc or people with no mics so you cant communicate even if you wanted to. Lots of times I get stuck in games where the people will have mics cause I can hear them breathing or I can hear their tvs but they wont talk. I'll try to communicate but maybe there just too into it. Still none the less this game is great I just need to get a nice little group together.

Quick question for you guys: What's the difference between GoW and GoW: Collector's Edition?

So I got my HDTV, it's hooked up to my computer until I get my 360 (playing WoW makes me sick, it's too big to be a monitor.)

bounty...GoW Collectors Edition has a metal case and comes w/ a bonus disc and a booklet that tells about the story behind the game...I haven't even checked out the bonus disc yet though but I bet it's quality for sure..

So there's my new TV on my desk. I can't wait to hook up the 360 to it, I'm so pumped. It only cost me $350 and standing in the cold from 2am til 5am last night.
