The malawi "mango carrot soda," male is a week from re-veg and it's finishing up, stable thus far and starting to produce more resins, I spotted a trichome or two looking over the lowers, it's finishing bottom up like I wanted temps are getting low this week, then back up to 80's. It's having an effect on the phenotypes outdoors for sure.
A few of these will be ready around october, faster than most phenotypes in the f1 generation.
Good resin production on the majority of these, final selections are based on how they smoke come harvest. The first batch will be ready in two to three weeks, the second batch maybe mid-late october, and then lastly the most sativa will be harvested around first week of November.
I've done my due dillegence to cull the intersex plants, so all of my seeds in this batch are from 2 main males, both leaning sativa, I'll be smoking the males in four days after harvesting the pollen tomorrow, and drying the smokable bits, then these males enter reveg along with my F1 plants.
I've got 50 plants I have to clone and/or repot for reveg, with roughly 10 others at harvest failing the stress tests, producing bananas near harvest. I'll harvest these and I don't plan to breed with them. The seeds may be fun to grow outdoors next spring.
About 15 from the 50 are looking really good, like High potential mother plants. I
Can test the seeds immediately as the clones reveg, alongside some other breeder's work.
I haven't seen more than a handful show they're mature(trichomes) and a few really surprised me how they remained stable while others didn't.
