Staying in Mexico at a Resort - best way to score?

if you just take a walk through one of the open-air markets, a dozen pushers will be in your face trying to sell you coke or grass. I got a big handful of nuggs (sticky, seedy, uncompressed jungle outdoor) probably 1/4+ for $25.

At first the guy said $90 for an 8th, I was like "dude.... I get high every day. Heres $25, give me what you think is fair."

i been to playdel carmen nice place we stayed at riu palace.go to tulum its a cool place and theres a atv forest tour there about 15 minutes from hotel if you like 4 wheelers,go to cancun for a day take the bus from playa to cacun then a taxi downtown to the mall its a nice mall has hard rock cafe all kinds of cool shops don't take weed any where leave it at your room.don't buy anything from taxi drivers they're bad news trust me.when u smoke in your room get a apple and core out the middle and blow your smoke thru that it kills them smell try it at home.cosumel is 45 minute fairy ride but take dremamimine before you go or you'll get sea sick going over i did and i live on a river. if your in to pryamids there is a day trip for that too we went there its a long day if you do it tho i'm telling ya. so theres a little info for ya any ? just pm me

I have been to playa a couple of times, Very nice place to chill, I agree It is best to just ask a senor or senorita fthats works at your hotel for some mota, I only had a couple guys askin me if i wanted anything and that was while i was lookin at some handmade wooden pipes but I just said no gracius. Just be careful. Also you are not going to find american 8ths, i wouldnt pay more than $50 for what would be about an ounce of some mexi

dont pay more than 50 a oz. If you go to Tulum, the shops on the ave have old dudes that hustle ganja. I would suspect that its the same in playa

I'm planning on going to Tulum this winter, im going to be staying at a place on the beach that is a 10 minutes walk away from Sian Kian. I plan on doing lots of kayaking there and hope to be puffing some good local sativa while I'm at it.
Are you talking about the shops in the town or in the tourist areas?

when i was in mexico a few years back we scored off our waiter in a restaurant. I bought $10 worth and it was like 4 OZ of brown weed lol. I was like WTF am I gonna do with this much weed. Well, on our last day there I went up to the bellboy and asked him if he wanted it and he looked at it and laughed and said I dunno why you didn't talk to me first, I could have gotten you green bud not that brown weed crap lol... so yeah, they are all about keeping the guy with the money happy

I'm brand new here but I can tell you how to hook up. I have a condo in Cancun and also go to Cozumel once a year. I can recommend a great day trip for you where you can hook up and have one of the best most relaxing times of your life. Hola buddays!! Just back from the Playa/Tulum area and yeah - it's no problem. 1st night in the hotel, a bunch of vendors set up tables selling souvenirs, usually including pipes. Show any interest and they'll be on you right away. Like others have said - don't take the first offer. (Best bit they had was..."buy a pipe and we fill it for free Senor!")
I found one very cool guy who knew what I was looking for and we negotiated down to some nice red-haired green bud - no seeds - small bag for $20 (about an eighth). Probably payed too much but I wasn't looking for too much for a short stay anyway. Plenty for me for 5 days to sail right along...and also like others have said...smoke it off your balcony - be cool and no one will hassle you. Mexican sunrises are AWESOME with a nice cup of coffee, some smoke, and a the whole day ahead of you.
It IS all over Playa - got approached numerous times on 5th Ave. by the beach but yes be careful. One COKE/SMOKE? guy said "step into the alley and see what you like? -- RIGHT!!
I went into one shop to buy a Cuban cigar and the guy said you want anything else to smoke and pulled out a sample case of weed in the backroom but I was already set...FUCKING AWESOME TIME though...just back tonight and I'm already missing it!

Didn't get prices on any quantity - I just wanted one to try it. Payed $8 for a Cohiba Limited Edicion 2008 (he started asking $25 haha) Came in a humidor tube so it was fresh and very smooth. They are out in the open in smoke shops so I think they're legal down there but you couldn't bring any back to the US. The guy also had larger packs but I didn't enquire about the price on those...

hell man - GO FOR IT!! Where we were - the all inclusive resorts are the best deal. Great accomodations...great food...bottled water! What more could you ask for? The irony on the still developing "Mayan Riveria" is super deluxe resorts right next to crushing poverty (separated by barbed wire fences - no shit!) Kind of sad but I guess the resorts provide employment and don't be an ass and not tip - those $$ go right to the employees so don't be an "I've already paid for this vacation!" douche! The people that work there make most of their money on tips so do it (and they'll pour you a good one!) - and OH YEAH...LOTS OF EYE CANDY on the beaches - that's just a bonus...I'd go back next week if I could...SEEYA!

You got sold a fake cigar too. If you're an American citizen, even if you are in Mexico it is illegal for you to buy one.

Glad you made it safe and sound though and had a nice trip.

oh yeah - the trip (and TRIPS) were awesome....but seriously? I didn't walk up to the cuban cigar display at the smoke shop saying - "HEY! I'm an American and I'd like to smoke a Cuban cigar! Kind of assumed Cubans were a legal import for Mexico and to buy one I had to go into the backroom of a little shop - are they a legal import in Mexico? Then why would they (or the US government?)give a shit who smokes them in Mexico? I had no intention of bringing any back to the US...and lets face it...this WHOLE BAN is stupid fucking politics! Even if this cigar was a Dominican dog wrap - it tasted pretty good!! mmmm...pretend cuban cigar!!

Yeah it's messed up! They are a legal import in Mexico, but according to the US government, the ban on Cuban goods applies to American citizens even outside America. So technically it is unlawful to buy a Cuban cigar in Mexico if you are an American citizen. hahahaha

But I assure you, you did not buy an authentic Edicion Limitada Cohiba in Mexico for $8. hahahah I sent you a link. Check it out. Cheers.
