Staying in Mexico at a Resort - best way to score?

Long time stoner...first time poster Anyway, my wife and I are going to an all-inclusive Mexican resort in April (Playa del Carmen area) and I'm looking for the best way to score while there. I've heard the horror stories about street rip-offs and the mexican cops and just wondering if you can depend on anyone who works at these resorts to help you cop? This is a serious question...

goood luck my friend. all I can say is look for the hippie lookin dude next to the fountain...other than that I wouldnt know who to trust down there...harsh prisons I hear..

I do and if you're ever in North Dakota - look me up because you won't have ANY LUCK ANYWHERE here unless you know someone...peace!
I guess my real question is am I better off trying to hit up some employee at the resort who knows his job depends on keeping the customers "happy" or trying to hit up some smokeshop owner in a town?

Listen to irish, you may pay a little more but at least it will keep you out of the danger spots. Dont get talked into buying more than you need as those can be setup stings between police since getting out of trouble in mexico usually means buying your way out. Better yet, hit up a shop/store keeper.

Then before you go you should google the location youre going to with words like crime, tourist info, etc, whatever.

hey I admit I'm a rube going to Mexico for the first time..just looking for an 1/8th or so to enjoy when i'm there...not going to try to bring anything back - I just want to get baked when I'm down there!

Legislation: The "Codigo Penal" law at "Articulo 195Bis" specify a max. of 250Grams to be considered personal consuming and not to be procecuted. And 5Grams of Hash. But many local laws are in conflict with this federal law. So many states and cities are more "illegal" than others.



Law enforcement: Police are all corrupt and will look for big money off you if caught. The average cop in Cancun retires at 45!



Where to buy marijuana: In playa del carmen (just Playa to everyone) all you have to do is walk down fifth avenue one street up from the beach, it will come to you in seconds,. just keep your wits about you in this small pedestrian street score in a shop not on the street to avoid the shcmeez obviuously. I got about half an ounce of earthy smelling brick that was quite damp - it was incredibly strong, i paid $90 us for it and bought a pipe for $25 off the woman in the shop as a thankyou. they guys on the street constantly whisper 'coke, smoke amigo?' i didnt bother but you can get either off the shop guys.

Marijuana prices: $40 an eighth, less than half that if you know someone


Marijuana brands: wild grown in the jungle probably


More information: be respectful and keep it in your hotel balcnony - mexican cops are hard and scary looking

Hi all,in playa everybody sells (or tries)but many are tring to ripp u off...ask in the resort and the guys selling things on the beach....they all have....they will start with high prices....don t pay the first price....have fun

I have been to playa a couple of times, Very nice place to chill, I agree It is best to just ask a senor or senorita fthats works at your hotel for some mota, I only had a couple guys askin me if i wanted anything and that was while i was lookin at some handmade wooden pipes but I just said no gracius. Just be careful. Also you are not going to find american 8ths, i wouldnt pay more than $50 for what would be about an ounce of some mexi

If I were you, I'd be asking for "Sinsemilla"...which translates to "seedless" mota...LOL!!

You should have absolutely no problems scoring good herb down in Mexico... The bellboys, bartenders, beachstrollers, all will offer it to you... Just as Irish said, use common sense when buying and enjoy your trip!!!

I always found the best herb at the "chicken houses", but since your traveling w/the wife...that may not be the best idea...

PS...Take your time finding it...Don't buy from the first person that offers it to you unless it is lime green, sugar coated, and funky.... I use to live in San Diego and spent much time South of the border, and Mexico has plenty of "great cannibas"....You just have to find what your looking for...and it is there indeed... Kind of like Canada, nobody wants any "beasters"...your looking for the best Mexico has to offer!! So take your time and enjoy!!...and don't spend more than $20-30 US/per ounce or your paying too much...

Dont spend more than 200 pesos for a gram of top of the line unpressed sinsemilla, if its pressed seedy smelly shit then dont pay over 100 pesos for 5 joints, prices in Mexico depend just like anywhere else on who you know, where you buy, how much your interested in and what quality you desire.
As a tourist who I imagine doesnt speak spanish you are bound to get asked for a very high price so try to negotiate it, and if you are a gringo expect to get ripped off.
