Day 9

Day 9

Well my babies aren't looking too good, well the cheese look ok the skywalkers are not looking so hot, one looks like its dying.. I think the clf's were too close or more likely i over feed them superthrive :(

I gave them a feeding of just distilled water this morning and backed the clf's off a lil... i hope they pull through :(

Sorry to hear about your seedlings statictattoo but keep your head up and with the steps u took they should pull thru after all it's not called weed for nuttin

I'm in similar shoes to your own, old OG member (5 years ago), grew twice, with relative success, but nothing major. One thing I have heard over and over with seedlings, is to just let them be and do their thing.

Don't do anything to them, period.

For me I started 70+ seeds and, it's been working OK. I've got mine under t-8 floros, (4 tubes total), about 90% seed to seedling rate (and maybe it will climb higher). I watered with normal tap water (our tap water is likely very good, though I've yet to measure it) lightly using a spoon after planting the "germ'd" seeds.

It's been 3-4 days since they sprouted (though some are younger) and I've yet to water them. I figure they'll show me when they need it.

Best of luck to you sir, my only advice in the future is to not add anything to your water for the first while, though I understand the temptation, it was hard for me not to dump some rooting solution in with my water (I mean hey, that's going to help them root faster, right?!). I'm still tempted to put a tiny bit of molasses in with my next watering, but I should probably just hold off until they are in "keg cups".

One rule of thumb I've heard is to put your hand where the plants would be, and if after 30 seconds, your hand feels "uncomfortable" it's too close for the plants as well. I just dropped my floro tubes down to where they are touching a few of the seedlings, but the tubes are barely even warm, so I figure it's safe...

Just keep it simple, and let them grow, like it was said above me, it's not called weed for nothing, these are voracious beasts. I swear most folks have a hard time growing pot by doing too much, rather than too little. Hopefully in 4-5 months I'll have some new experiences to back that up.

your little babies seem to need a little bit of support,
i have a nice tip for that,

pic included

just split the straw down the long size,
slide it on,
and you got great support for seeds,
that will naturaly open
when the seed gets bigger :D

dude i dunno if they are going to get any bigger... but i did think of a straw my self.. but thanks for the tip its appreated, i should probably do that.. I'm still pretty bummed and don't really know where to go from here... I'm gonna wait till they need to be watered again and water with corrected ph tap water... hopefully a week from now they start growing again.. or be dead or dying :(

Either way I think I'm going to order more seeds.. just in case these ones don't make it... get a better ph tester.. no guessing .. man ph sucks.. not mess with super thrive.. maybe go with a diffrent strain then skywalker.. its kinda pricey.. and man i paid like $175! I didnt really look around but it was a recomended site in my country ( no customs ) so i went with it.. I have since found cheaper sites such as our host site Gypsy Nirvana among others.. if my seedlings pull through great.. :jump: Im not ready to give up on them yet.. if not I'll be that much wiser and ready to try again ..

its not looking good zombi3girl... some of them are toast for sure.. others are not getting any worse.. nor better.. its kinda a bummer.. but on a positive note, i woke up this morning and my work had decided to give me a profit sharing bonus.. which i just used to order more seeds :)

I decided to go with Big Buddha Blue Cheese 10 pack of fems.. reasonably priced so what the hell.. grow just the one strain... hopefully i don't kill these ones

Well people... its offical.. they are dead.

After getting so many different answers on how often to water.. i decided to wait a few days.. well i watered them Saturday night (9ish ), didnt check em till today ( monday noonish ) and they were all shriveled up and dead.. so less then 48 hours.. one guy said 4-5 days lol i guess i misunderstood him tho.. either way they were all going to turn male after what i did to them so I was already planning on starting over.. :)

Hey Statictattoo....

Hey Statictattoo....

By the way... Nice job this second grow around. Hopefully, you resolve the root issue. Maybe a root trim is in order. Of course, that's only a temporary fix. What about a screen cover for your drain? Or do you already have one? In any event, I hope it gets sorted as I'd love to see the final outcome of your harvest.

Just in case you were interested meduser is having slightly discounted prices on Homeboxes. I know that's what you use. So in case you were considering picking up another one I just wanted to let you know. You can check out the forums under product reviews for more info.

Out of curiousity, I'd appreciate if you could offer recommendations regarding where to purchase equipment and the like. Canadian prices appear significantly higher than those listed in the States. Do you order from the states and pay the extra charge that UPS usually charges, or buy locally?

Feel free to respond at your convenience.

Anyway, best of luck.

Kind Regards, nlvigour
