I am not sure that this "funding" came from Head Office and may well simply have been a local decision on the ground in Colorado. (Please, please, please, let it be so...)

I drink Starbucks everyday and brew their beans at home, too. It's my #1 drug of choice. If asked to choose between ganja and my Starbucks? I got to admit, I think Starbucks is probably going to win that showdown.

It's like being asked to choose between my children. Un-unh. I don't want to go there. At all.

Please someone do some e-mailing and calls to Starbucks head office and get this fixed please. I REALLY want this to be some great misunderstanding and that Starbucks sorts this out in short order. It would REALLY piss me off if I felt morally compelled to stop purchasing Starbucks' products.

Starbucks is a corporation. Thanks to the Bush SCOTUS they can now simply purchase politicians. Anyone who thinks Starbucks won't participate in the new Fascist Amerika is delusional. Starbucks is now it's own superpower, they can do anything they want.

Calling them is pointless, as of yesterday our opinion no longer matters in the least. The only way to fight them is by not giving them your cash, and asking your friends and family to do the same.

Only because I don't carry a coffee machine around in my car. I also don't want to make a pot of coffee when I only need one cup, or I'm in a hurry and need a nosh with my joe.

Don't you have any other coffeeshops where you live? I'm sure you can find a suitable substitute.

What we ALL need to do is OPEN and Patronize CANNABIS COFFEESHOPS!!! Just like in Holland. Then Starbucks can go to hell...

Sorry bub, no meanness intended here, BUt you typify why we never get anywhere..you want someone ELSE to email and call!! Amazing. you take the time to write here whining about not being able to stop drinking their coffee for the cause, but will not take the time to write them..even if you intend to keep drinking the stuff you could at least send the emails and help...thats just plain damned lazy...bone lazy.

I went to the site linked to and sent all the emails requested...only took a minute to send all of them..and then returned to this page to read your pathetic excuse for a response.

If you are not willing to do anything for the cause, then you are not a brother...just a lazy stoner with selfishness as a creed. It is sad, really..If every stoner took a few moments to send the emails and flooded the companies we WOULD get results..millions, even a few hundred thousand..emails and calls get noticed and acted upon.

So man up and quit asking US to do the ground work...if tyou want respect and to be a part of victory day when it happens, you better grow a pair and think beyond your next toke, or slurp of coffee.

ok..big alcohol, i understand.. weed may hit their profits..smoke instead of drink..people will realize smoking makes you drink less.. uh oh.. it may even help you quit drinking.

glock, hmm maybe..? a more peaceful nation may not want to buy as many guns and/or feel there is a need to buy them..less crime because everyone has got the munches, and is home watching tv, cops won't need to buy so many weapons..attitudes may change leading to more bans on their product

but starbucks?

coffee and a smoke go together like bread n butter. wtf? starbucks made a mistake and is on the wrong side of the supporting ;)

edit: this sounds fishy, possibly a false rumor or joke?

This one is going to hurt them, because I drink a LOT of starbucks coffee. Or, I USED to drink it.

Once these large corps piss me off, they lose a customer for life. I will never buy another Kelloggs, or Microsoft product again in my lifetime. And I go out of my way to talk shit about them whenever possible.

Whole Foods organic coffee.... here I come.

In their defense - I don't care for their overpriced crap when I have cotton mouth.

Plus - can you imagine how much it cost them on a national scale daily in labor hours when medicated individuals pull up to the drive through and start their order with "uuhhh . . ."?

buddy

What's retards who say "uuuhhh" in line have to do with cannabis?

i certainly don't fit that stereotype, nor do i stumble when i order.

If anything, they make money off my lazy ass because i'm too lazy to brew at home but not anymore. Got my french press kickin' right now.

Oh lighten up Skip. I'll do it if Starbucks doubles down on their legal support of the Prohibitionists. The difference being, unlike a lot of you here, it sounds like the boycott would be a real sacrifice on my part :)

As for other choices over Starbucks? There are lots, sure. That said, Starbucks Sumatra beans are rather unique...

But you typify why we never get anywhere..you want someone ELSE to email and call!! Amazing.
Ahem. I would point out that I'm not the one calling for the boycott. But apparently, I'm wrong to think it might be the boycott organizers who should be trying to clarify matters with Starbuck's Head Office and make it all better?

I see. So this is my appointed task, is it?

Damn. Not only is some rogue Starbucks employee in Colorado deciding to support the Prohibitionists, but now I got to spend a few hours of my time, my patience and my infinite understanding to go fix it with Starbucks head office. :lightning:

*sigh* I'll see what I can do.

LOL@fatigues... ;)

Why would Starbucks want to come out against cannabis?

Easy...

Cigs & coffee - It's the tobacco & coffee industries standing side-by-side.

Also caffeine is a drug, a drug that some executives might think is antithetical to cannabis.

If only they used cannabis they would know that stoners NEED coffee more than anyone just to stay awake...

So they are shooting themselves in the coffee bean.

I'd say they're likely to lose as much as 50% of their customers, not just because cannabis users are boycotting, but because many others will be sympathetic and will reject this huge multinational corporation dictating what we can do in our private lives.

if you guys think starbucks is gonna lose 50% of its revenue over an anti MJ stance, you're wrong.

HOWEVER, they ARE closing a shitload of stores, why close stores if you're makin money???

I was chatting with some baristas about 6 months ago and every single starbucks was telling me they are in the shitter financially and due to this economy, people are ALREADY stopping the $4 a drink habits, you cut out even 2% of business from them with this boycott and they would retract their stance. Thats billions of dollars in lost revenue with a chain that is already decreasing in its net worth. So would a nationwide boycott known in every town reduce their income 50%? no. would it do SOMEthing to dent them and hurt em in the pockets? yes definitely.

I just spoke to an employee named Cormic, he informed me that there logo has been used in this anti Starbucks campaign. And those involved will be sued. It couldn't be a better answer, not only are they in bed with alcohol and firearms but they are going to use the system that continually fails all of us to quiet this down. I say lets take it to the streets, post fliers anywhere you think like minded people will see them. The problem is, history is only one side of the story, the winning side. Lets fight this one and have a chance to tell the truth. Karma, One Love
