Hey Star Crash! Great work!.. your plants are looking as happy as pigs in mud. Are your "special" container plants staying in containers or going in the ground in that special spot you have reserved? :)

ona ..the biting insects are on me soon as i start to sweat, the deer flies are on me in seconds,i pull ticks off my body pretty frequently...usually i can bear it without the use of DEET,but if i'm doing something particularly hard i'll use deep woods off in a hand pump spray bottle...it works for about 20 minutes...a shirt over my head w/just my face exposed provides a lot of relief from buzzing insects

Nat high.. i intend to keep those plants in containers to flower in my special place..first though i'll need to set up a way of getting water there ,other then hand trucking it in...it's slightly down slope so i plan on a gravity feed method...you'll see

that's it for now...in a bit i go back out & pick off the slugs that emerge after sunset...i get slugs on the in the ground plants

Sprinkle some Damascus earth around the plants on the ground full circle will kill on contact and it's organic or try some small tubs shallow with water and alotta salt sorta like a sludge....i bet you'll no longer will need to go out slug hunting.... Just picking up your spoils in the morning jajaja :woohoo:

^hope the heck i can harvest by the 1st week of October...we'll see how the weather pattern holds in the fall...obviously i want a nice dry fall so i can let them mature as much as possible, but it can go either way...this whole endeavour is one big gamble

i trimmed the lowers on most of the plants this morning & also thinned out the inner limbs & shoots

wtf....so it appears i hurt El Supremo...

:chin: it's either transplant shock,or over-watering(or both),but man she looked so bad this A.M. ... all droopy everywhere! if i killed her i'll be very angry w/myself...18 hours after a big transplant and she looks like terrible!!! really drastic change & the plant is screaming she's unhappy...all i can do is hope she dries out and maybe snaps out of the shock...this was a costly error on my part...oh well

i gotta get those!

I was in the military at the time. Between Jungle School in Panama and being stationed in the coastal swamp area of Georgia, I got very familiar with mosquitoes. The hoods can hold in heat a bit, but with biting flies, mosquitoes, midges etc., they can definitely make a days work more tolerable. If you're sleeping there, you definitely need them.

A wide brimmed hat to work with helps keep the netting off of your face. This has worked for me. You just have to make sure it's not too wide or the netting wont fit over it. Some of the head nets have pretty long length so that helps when putting it over a hat. they also usually have loops on the end that attach to shirt buttons to keep it from pulling up when you're movin around. having mosquitoes get trapped inside is Guantanamo Bay level torture

Also consider getting a mosquito netting tent. If it's good weather, you can just use that by itself. If there might be rain, you can pop it up inside that other tent. That link is just for illustration. It could probably work at your site but its meant for using on a bed. There's similar things that are actual tents.

PM'd you on a diff topic

Do you know anyone with a drone that can shoot pics, or even better, video? If you can access one, you can do a spy run and see how your locations appear from the air. That goldenrod is a great backdrop. It may fade later though. If LEO hasn't started doing drone surveillance yet, they surely will in a year or two. Costs them probably like a millionth of the cost of a helicopter
