You ever think about LST'ing those plants ? Would help with stealth and yield. As far as support goes, they sell plastic coated metal stakes at HD/Lowes. Online you get green trellis netting. Zip-tie the trellis to a stake vertically. Then wrap the trellis around the plant and zip-tie back onto the same stake.

You could also set up the trellis like an outdoor scrog. That helps a lot when you LST plants. Gives you something to hold branches up, just like indoors. I might have some old pics. I'll look and see if I can show you how I did it.

big day today...got 6 females planted(many more to go,but i've made my start)...i'm finding the native soil to be quite nice...it's a red clay type ,but you can tell it's nutrient rich w/earthworms living in it...i'm just getting a planting system going and hope to be way more productive tomorrow, but truth be told i have my hands full! ...i'm separating the males, and females, selecting sites for the females, much hiking back and forth no small distances, here and there carrying this and that...fighting biting bugs...learned quickly that i can't dig in the sun and last very long...excruciating...so tomorrow i'm going in at the crack of dawn for a planting session...now it's a race against time to get them in the ground, because 1/2 the day was spent just keeping up w/the watering,,,i can't afford that time & had to hit them A.M and P.M...also i'm switching to Jack's Ferts from now on...AN will cost me a fortune as i'm burning right through it...i'll miss the automatic PH buffering AN provided though ,it's very convenient outdoors...anyways today w/pick-axe and one long bladed shovel ~star~crash~ went to work...lol ...1'st i cut a nice round circle in the surface & then cut the sod layer out (i keep it and return it to the mound afterwards for a perfect mulch cover:biggrin:..then i excavate a nice big hole & really loosen up the dirt...i grabbed old semi composted leaf litter off the nearby woodlands floor and mixed that organic material right in generously with the native soil for more aeration ,then plant the plant...let me tell you i'm putting some gorgeous plants in the ground...hard to describe the degree of satisfaction i'm feeling to finally make it to this point...

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, but just like B4 I know you'll push thru the challenge with flying colors. Yes crack a dawn is the best time to work outdoors, that damn sun can turn up and drain your energy in no time. If I go to the spot after 11am its usually just to take a look at them, all my work should've been done hours ago. I was going to mix in leaf matter into my clay like soil too but read on another thread that while the leaf is composting it'd make the soil mix hot and might burn the plant (says should be done months in advance), so I scrapped that idea. Was that wrong info someone posted up? :chin:

Once you get a breather from all that labor, would luv to see pics of the finished work. Be breezy... :whee:

i think it was that you don't want to bury fresh green leaves into the soil?? old leaf litter should be beneficial...it's all i got so i hope so:)

If it was easy every1 would do it Star.. Be sure an throw it plenty of pulverized Dom lime in each hole and Ph will be buffered.

I'm pretty sure that if you were to test the pH of your water after adding Jack's it would be well within the acceptable range for the plants. When I used it outside , I never checked the pH. Just fill buckets and dump them on the plants.

i'll have to check the jacks nutrient solution's PH at least once before i dive in 100%...4 weeks from now i DO NOT want to be looking at any nutrient lock-out what-so-ever

Funny ass quote, wish I could see the original thread. Know it was probably funny as hell..

:)

this mornings planting yielded 12 females and 7 males...great ratio!!! the males are now side-lined & on the back burner ATM

6 early hours in the field and Twelve females in the ground!

i did it assembly line fashion...cut,dug,amended ,and planted...i'm sod busting & that layer of sod i'm making work for me...

i'll go back later for another planting session after i dab & nap...

peace growers...

lol...i got the nap part of my plan in,but no more planting today...no way..i went back for feeding & just about every plant has showed pre-flowers(except for only 3 stubborn hold-outs) i'm looking at about 45 females:sasmokin:

Hallelujah!!!

plus i have some in containers getting special treatment...for choosing sites i'm primarily using the tree lines with mostly western afternoon exposure & staying close to the woodlands edges ...i'm hopeful that in four days that planting will be accomplished (at 12 per day)...it's do-able...i experimented w/ jacks bloom fert and it's going to require PH'ng >> up...i can deal w/that though...i need a better labling system, actually tag each plant so i don't lose it's identity,,you know?...also i brought a hand pump w/me & it's going to help a LOT w/water collection chores...

45 ladies damn you are going to have a metric shit ton of bud. Pace yourself Star its a marathon not a 100 yard dash. Don't wear yourself out by trying to get them all in as fast as possible. They will be fine in their pots.
