Outdoor tip : to keep deer, rabbits, and/or any small animal that will munch on small plants away. Take a bar of Irish Spring out tot he spot. Shave slivers off the soap off all over the ground around the plants. Doing so will make the critters think there is a human close by, or humans are gonna be there soon.

That has worked for me for a long time now....like 20 years. And for those that doubt. I have had small plants eaten out of the ground. Re-planted and then put soap out. Didn't lose a single one after the soap was there. I could see the tracks come in towards the spot. Then as soon as they smelled to soap, the tracks stopped. Cheap and effective as well as pretty stealthy.

I've seen a snapping turtle as big as a garbage can lid - my Dad got it to bite a potato sack & we lifted it off the side of the road. It could have crushed an arm, easily.

ime deers can get used to irish spring eventually. it works great until then, its not likely it will happen in one season too, rather over several in the same location with same family of deer. i think i deer ate all my sunflowers tops off. didnt touch the large lettuce patch 7 feet away thankfully
