Star Crash's Indoor Grow Show '08

We got about a 1/2 lb of Glue larf from this seasons grow that I need blasted. My friend wants 50% to do it. I'm not sure Its worth giving 50% to do it. Is it? He said hed get about 24grams yield of shatter or wax from it total, then split that with me which is then getting split between me and my grow partner this year. So we get 25% each and the blaster gets 50%.

I paid 50% to have mine made, wasn't to happy about it but it came out really nice. I could have run bubble hash and made rosin, but I didn't have the time. Nug run gg4 shatter should be awesome. I guess it,depends on the guys skills.

if the material has lots of trichomes, it will yield, the frostier the better, that's what you want

i doubt it, give them a long slow cool dry time

I think it makes little difference, it's more convenient to break it down into branches.

I think.....IMO..........that outdoor should be dried abit quicker due to contaminants like PM or fresh hatching cats'. I ended up slow drying this years outdoor and PM is getting on everything. Just popping up everywhere. Even on the prior indoor harvest of nugs in jars.
I like to keep my nugz moist and sticky. Not wet by any means, but fresh. So I open the jars and leave them open for an hour or 2 every couple days.
I smoked a GG4 indoor nug yesterday and it seemed like it closed off my lungs as if it had PM on the trichomes or something. You can def tell the dif between before outdoor harvest, and after outdoor harvest.
I also had some nugz on the outdoor where when you open up the nug the trichomes are brilliant white and smell soapy. Not a good thing at all. Feels soft and super sticky. I throw those away. No PM on the leaves at all. Just the trichomes on the inside of the nug. Have never seen that before.
We didn't spray anything on our plants this year except greencure halfway into flower, and I feel that next year we are gonna spray Safer Soap anti fungal spray while in veg at the start of stretch to ensure theres no PM around.

personally OGDW i would never pay that. also 24 g? seems like a weak return to me. is it closed loop? i have no experience with them, we open blast our popcorn here and get a MINIMUM of 3.5g/oz more like a 1/7 ratio which is 4g per oz. id say if you are sure you cant blast it yourself tell him ten g flat is more than enough for him to run it and that should give you at least 16g to split but how do you know they are going to be honest about the return? in my mind anyone wanting a 50% payment certainly isnt trying to do you any favors... i dunno man just my opinion

Yes top level strains are 25%+ THC so total resins will be higher than that. So around a 25% return makes sense and anything significantly less is just wasting cannabinoids. You need high quality material and a very efficient system to achieve these returns though.

i've got efficiency...it's low tech but amazingly efficient

and yes it's all about source material ... don't bother with it unless you got trichomes...lots of them

Hang in there bud, but take a day off, or at least part of a day.

If that's any help, I know the feeling, I think most of us here do. Sometimes it's worth admitting to ourself that we bit more than we could chew... try too see if there are any chores you can skip or try to let go of something.

In my case, when crazy busy, I let go of trimming, shit is fire anyway.

Me too. I'm spraying Fungal in veg and during transition/stretch.
Also BT for caterpillers during transition and week 3 flower. That's all I should need. The cheesecloth should help keep them cats' off the buds, but if any moths should lay eggs, the BT will mop them up.

Don't worry ~star~, everyone gets burned out after harvest. The trimming and breaking down of material off the sticks and all that is tedious work. I'm burned out bad too. But its still better than having to get up everyday and punch a timeclock. That burns me out way more.
