No need to be surprised, I’ve been dealing with these for just about my entire 30 year growing career.
More of a nuisance in my opinion than a real problem in low numbers but it’s nice to not see them. And yeah, when they start killing rooting cuts and seedlings it’s time to do battle.
There are many vineyards, orchards and market gardens where I live and gnats are prolific. They can easily get out of control indoors around here. I'm wondering if your newest gnat control could be used as a preventative measure. The damn things love to land on my computer screen and taunt me.

Evening all

Well still no Hummingbird sighting. I am sure they are here somewhere though. Orioles are out and about -

I set the trap to relocate the raccoon, but the chipmunks are stealing all the bait -

Scored fifteen bottles of grape jelly at the Dollar Tree today. If you don't get it now you won't see it again until fall.

Good to hear the bbqs are coming out.

Forgot to take a photo yesterday… Japanese bbq are very hot and fast over coals with thin slices of meat…. Yaki Niku style.
Tomorrow we are going to a nice mountain spot for another bbq as it’s a public holiday(forgot what for tbh).
