For some reason I rather like rock bluffs...living here in the mountains and in my younger days I would enjoy the occasional climb around some bluffs just for the experience.
Your morning photos...lovely as can be.

I've worked lots of shift work, ok, hold onto your hat Lester, I would switch my shift with people so I could work the 3-11 PM shift. It was my favorite shift. Get up when I want and go to bed when I want. Could take care of any business outside of work during business hours.I once did a night shift in a machine shop, 10-7. Got home made coffee and was like now what. That shift is a no go for me. I have to be up and ready to roll at sun up. I can't be going to sleep then. Well back to sleep or beer induced sleep but not as part of a routine.
My bro works the B shift. Dumbest shift ever. He works 3-1am. Gets home unwinds and goes to sleep when the sun comes up, gets up an hour before work. Zero life. I don't get it.
I could go for a ribeye right now..glad I ate all that this am, been busting my ass out there.
I worked 3-11 for many years, loved it. I wasn't married and didn't have kids though. I didn't get home too late so I could still get up early and had all morning and early afternoon to take care of business.I've worked lots of shift work, ok, hold onto your hat Lester, I would switch my shift with people so I could work the 3-11 PM shift. At one company I worked 12 to 12 on the weekend, then went into a regular shift change over 3 weeks(the 3 different shifts people work) with one day off, then finished on a weekend with two 12 hour shifts opposite to the starting two 12 hour day shifts. Then I would get 12 days off work, so in a break down every month I would get 1 day off every 3 weeks and at the end of the 4th week get 12 days off, that last two 12 hour shifts were intense because you were tired out by this time.
Your right Jenn, being single helps when working the 3-11 shift. Oh yeah, I liked the 3-11I worked 3-11 for many years, loved it. I wasn't married and didn't have kids though. I didn't get home too late so I could still get up early and had all morning and early afternoon to take care of business.
Nice work on the skateboard for an 8th grader. I don't recall skateboards being around when I was in 8th grade.I just went searching in the basement for my t-shirt press and found my 8th grade woodshop skateboard I made
I had to think about the wheels and trucks because I knew they didn't come off one of my decks. I remembered a buddy broke a deck in half and I took them off his. He had a half pipe in his back yard that his dad built. Good times, I broke my wrist on that half pipe.

I don't know if skateboards are really still a thing anymore or not, I imagine they are still pretty hot in California but who knows. Hell I don't even know if woodshop is still around, it's a different world today.Nice work on the skateboard for an 8th grader. I don't recall skateboards being around when I was in 8th grade.
If I remember right I made my mom a salad bowl with spoon and fork.
I like when I find something that I lost track of, maybe not when I can't find it but when I do, all is good.I don't know if skateboards are really still a thing anymore or not, I imagine they are still pretty hot in California but who knows. I had a buddy give me a call this afternoon and asked me if I wanted to do some plinking this weekend and I said yeah, I've got a scope I want to sight in. I went to grab some ammo from under the stairs and found my t-shirt press, and my missing Lebanon seeds inside an ammo box . I should really sort that basement mess out![]()
smells like a cheese factory some fresh LABzilla gonna work some soil soon
I've gotten some to germinate that were old, most have not. I've soaked them in a 1:4 hydrogen peroxide to water ratio.I like when I find something that I lost track of, maybe not when I can't find it but when I do, all is good.
Sometimes I find things and didn't even know I lost them🫣
I use to enjoy some plinking but I'm not very steady any longer. The last time I was plinking I was invited to a wildlife groups hall/grounds for a weekend of shooting with the members who were willing to let others shoot their guns. I am no marksman but I naturally picked up on shooting and was a decent shot. I use to hunt when I was a teenager but gave it up.
In some ways it's a different to very different world, in other ways nothing has changed and in some cases gotten worse.
I've got some Lebanese seeds I bought from TRSC years ago. One of these days I'd like to try and germinate an old seed.
Do you ever germinate old seeds, "over 10 years" if so how do you do it?
When you say a T-shirt press do you mean for putting like a decal type thing on it?
kids here wear it out on them. city built a track & named it in honor of a young man (Scott Adams) who was killed when he dropped his board & it rolled into the street with him chasing it. if i was x-rayed, i've still probably got gravel in my hands & elbows from my days on them...I don't know if skateboards are really still a thing anymore or not
That's good to hear kids are still doing it. I never even see kids go outside anymore in my area.kids here wear it out on them. city built a track & named it in honor of a young man (Scott Adams) who was killed when he dropped his board & it rolled into the street with him chasing it. if i was x-rayed, i've still probably got gravel in my hands & elbows from my days on them...![]()
This dude scalpels/scrapes the coat off the seed, then has some kind of solution in a petri dish or something. did not watch the whole thing. It is called embryo rescue. There is a place in upstate NY that will do it for like 50 a seed or something and will ship seedlings back to you from your old seeds if they germinateI've gotten some to germinate that were old, most have not. I've scuffed the seeds and soaked.
Soaked in plain water and even gave them a little squeeze with pliers. I've tried lots of ways. I think fate has a lot to do with it at a certain point.
Yes, a t-shirt press for decals, but I use it for magazine and comic book restoration.
yeah them oldies aint easy those last few i sprouted petered out i didnt crack the shell enough and days later sucks have 7 of those beanz left. did some others same time they were even older 14-15 yrs old did nothing but mush out i couldnt accept defeat so tried some of them germ techniques on the oldest ones and it worked really well tested it on 3 got 2 to go they took off with some serious vigour. i used lesters info with a few small tweaks to work with what i had and i soaked in kelp solution did 24h instead of 12h just to make sure it worked in goodI've gotten some to germinate that were old, most have not. Does the T-shirt press help take creases out of the paper?I've gotten some to germinate that were old, most have not. I've soaked them in a 1:4 hydrogen peroxide to water ratio.
