I have a truck also, I had a two wheel drive one time in my life. I got real tired of loading a few hundred pounds of top soil bags in the bed of it to make it through the winter. I imagine salt in NY is no better or worse than in Michigan. That stuff is everywhere.

Even a 4x4 truck can be useless in the winter without weight. My Subaru performs better in the snow than the 3/4 ton 4x4 I drove for almost 30 years.I love my truck even though it’s 2 Wheel Dr. and useless in the winter I don’t even like to take it out on the New York salty roads it’s incredible how much they dump on them if I do have to take it out I wash it off and get to the undercarriage as well afterwards it’s a real pain in the ass specially when it’s cold I’ve been draping a hose out of the upstairs window attaching it to the Sink(that’s how Star Crash do) and then running both hot and cold on for its low pressure but it’s warm water and I also learned you can use up to 104° in a pressure washer

I survived nine seasons with this truck so far minimal rustEven a 4x4 truck can be useless in the winter without weight. My Subaru performs better in the snow than the 3/4 ton 4x4 I drove for almost 30 years.
I remember when moving from Ontario to BC and seeing how much better body wise vehicles were because of less salt being used.
It pays to look after things properly. My X wife, her father took the oil from an oil change and brushed it on the undercarriage of his car and the inside panels he could reach. It kept the car body wise in excellent shape from rust. Living where he did in Ontario they used lots of salt in the winter.I survived nine seasons with this truck so far minimal rust
I got ahead of myself today. dragged out my pressure washer, but it wouldn’t start. No though. It pays to look after things properly. Nothing I would do but it worked for him.
I was doing dishes one day and seen an older truck stop on the highway, the guy got out and lifted the hood up. It was then I noticed a small flame, which soon became a bigger flame. I guess once it got burning into all the oil encrusted engine it just burnt rapidly, in less than 10 minutes it was too late for that vehicle.
Like this?It was sooo warm this morning, I could feel that extra warmth on my face while I each breath looked like I was smoking...
I've seen that myself with my field glasses but not the ring.Like this? View attachment 19132564

My late parents lived in New Hampshire and pretty much all area roads around them did not use salt on the their roads…it was nice to see vehicles not rusting away to nothinEven a 4x4 truck can be useless in the winter without weight.
