So what would you guys do if people wanted to pay you for grow tips/lessons/help?
I have this happen at least once a month where someone asks me.
Seems wrong to charge someone but if they are that wanting…
It's 500 for a consultation with me. I used to do it free or for whatever. Then after people don't take my advice, continue to suck, argue with me etc. I decided if I'm going to use my time and knowledge it will cost 500 min. Youde be surprised. It weeds out the wannabes. The folks I've helped last year all made serious improvements and 500 bucks is cheap to make your operation better. Plus I throw in a clone or some Growsafe. It's worked out so well I'm now consulting on veg gardens as well. Which I charge 100 for the visit.

I have enough soil to reuse, Im reusing build a soil 3.0 now, I just mix in some dry amendments or simply craft blend.
I’ve been using quite a bit of their product since seeing Jeremy on YouTube with Frenchy Cannoli’s wife (RIP Frenchy)

I have two soft sided demo dumpsters I use to mix and amend mostly coots mix type soil

Last year I had all my soil tested by my local extension service but the results require a level of knowledge or patience I didn’t have then (maybe never)

BAS does have a link to an Xcel spreadsheet online that you can input your test results to figure out the amounts of each item you need to add. I couldn’t figure it out and ended up just using very conservative estimates and it seemed to work out ok. Once I saw some Santa’s beard and that distinct smell of fresh soil returned I took a breath.

Within weeks I got an email from BAS promoting their offering soil testing along with some type printout of amendments required but I’d already done mine. I think their offer is thru Logan labs. I used Logan 2 years ago but had less soil so I just ordered the BAS bucket of amendments.

I’m grateful for your post but sad to hear about this updated pricing/shipping and its impact on you.

I am not sure what next year holds for me in any context except that I’ve got plenty of seed!!

I wish Florida wasn’t such a repressive unfriendly state (have 5 acres inland about 25 minutes from PCB in the panhandle) I think of what 5 acre of THH would look like or if I could even do anything down there.

I am at 42 north now so it would have to be a better season than here. I will say I got very lucky in October and November and finished most of my limited SE Asian run with decent results now in grove bags curing. I’m definitely grateful for the info but it still sux. Since I retired and then the pandemic, I try not to weigh in on costs generally because I don’t really get out much.

I started making LABS for my soil (not much use until next year)

I also found some local blend of microbes in a powdered sugar to mix with water that really did keep the soil in balance and the plants very happy. I don’t think I’m capable of recreating THAT stuff but would love to. At 35$ for 100 gallons of water it seemed pricey. Maybe someone can correct me. I even inquired with Paul Stamets company regarding soil microbiology improvement products.

Next years run will feature Oaxaca and Mountain Gold from Vermont man if I get to run anything.

It weeds out the wannabes
That’s the ticket

Very cool reading about your new career!!

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you’ve got the same background as this local guy I talked with this spring who put me onto this microbe mixture for watering. He calls himself a “turf specialist” or something like that. Handed me a photocopy of his 3 page “manifesto” which was very simple to grasp actually.

Test soil
Add proper microbes
Add lots of Worms

It was more than that but very simple.

I actually think grass or turf where I’m living is a real complicated long term problem. However, anyone with a lick of common sense can see the correlation between that turf knowledge and trying to create a great soil to grow cannabis in. I was very skeptical at first, but that mixture was all I used to water with regularly and I had no pest issues of consequence. Anything negative was as always, operator error.

Thanks for the update

It’s called consultancy I would do that in a heartbeat
What is that’s?
I prefer to help people when asked, but I also look at that grow room of yours and wonder how you make it. So my opinion is do what you need to do. If it helps put food on the table then do it.
👍

It’s funny when you do try to help people realize everybody has their own way of doing things
What a glorious day! Sun is shining and the music is playing and ol Lester has not a care in the world!

Think it's safe to remove my helmet? Lol
Ha
anyone else around? are you sitting down? no cats nearby? hell, why not...:D
😊
People do go to college to learn how to grow weed…look at what they pay for courses!!!

If the furnace is fixed and ya got a new coffee pot…then I’d say yeah 👍

So FP is it outdoor, indoor or both in 2025 for ya?
It’s going to be another outdoor hash crop😎 ...After all these years I still learned a lot...You can’t just grow anything you have to grow strains that are approving in the hash industry some of which you are holding 🔥✅
