I'll take a line from a character in an old TV show, " I know Nothing." When it comes to the universes origins.
It's too big a question for my mind, hey, I got scalloped potatoes with ham in the oven and some squash. That took all my thinking just to get that done right.

As nasty as it is, parasitism is a highly successful method of life (going back 500 million years to the Cambrian ) … parasites can be found almost literally everywhere in one form or another… life is weird
look at Washington DC...they do quite well there.
Interesting that lots of giants start out like tiny larva plankton sized things (like the “colossal squid” for example) .. not to be confused with a giant squid… only thing bigger than the colossal squid is the above the top shelf squid

There really is something called the colossal squid by the way they know it exists. not much photographic evidence though….

The colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) is the world’s largest squidspecies and the world’s largest mollusc. It belongs to the Cranchiidae family, that of the cockatoo squids or glass squids. It is sometimes called the Antarctic cranch squid or giant squid (not to be confused with the giant squid in genus Architeuthis) and is believed to be the largest squid species in terms of mass.[3] It is the only recognized member of the genus Mesonychoteuthis and is known from only a small number of specimens.[4] The species is confirmed to reach a mass of at least 495 kilograms (1,091 lb), though the largest specimens—known only from beaks found in sperm whale stomachs—may perhaps weigh as much as 600–700 kilograms (1,300–1,500 lb),[5][6] making it the largest known invertebrate.[3] Maximum total length has been estimated between 10 metres (33 ft) and 14 metres (46 ft) but the former estimate is more likely.[7][8] The colossal squid has the largest eyes of any known creature ever to exist, with an estimated diameter of 27–30 cm (11–12 in)[9] to 40 cm (16 in) for the largest collected specimen.

Killed a tick on the back of my hand today.

As long as you get it out within 24 hours, you don’t need antibiotics (that’s standard procedure if it’s actually a deer tick as opposed to a wood tick…Lymes disease is nothing to take lightly . It’s fucked me up really bad. last year been having to avoid the urge to walk around the trails or the woods too much. Pulled one off just yesterday. Fucker was crawling around my arm.
