If a Nordic dog is still alive at 16 years old I'd say you've given him a great and good life.... Keep that for the day when he has to leave you...
Watch out for the female's youthful impetus. Don't be surprised that when the male passes away, you will have to dedicate more "quality time" to the female...

Best wishes to you and all of you.

"Hola amigo,
¿Que haces por aquí?
¿vienes de muy lejos?
¿estás sucio o es que eres así?
sólo huesos y pellejos...

Tengo un trato para ti:
yo te doy comida y techo
si me enseñas a vivir
como vive un perro viejo...

Como vive un perro viejo,
como perro viejo, lerele,
como vive un perro viejo...

¿Sabes? yo también sentí
que me ataban por el cuello...
...la quería y la perdí
la noche de aquel invierno.
No se si ahora soy feliz...
...la verdad que no lo intento;
...si me apuras a decir
soy igual que un perro viejo..."

It's sad when the time comes to say goodbye to a long time friend. I sent my old bulldawg over the bridge last week.

That killer queen looks pretty good. Ima gonna pick up a pack. The two cindys I gave away are pretty good smelling.

Crazy Mother Nature

They say it remains erupting for months...

Fortunately, the chain of small volcanoes that surround my hill to the north, have been dormant since more than 3000 BC...

We were extremely lucky that the national geological institutes (seismology and volcanology) had predicted a circle of less than 500 m radius where the eruption would occur (it should be noted that this eruption created a new volcano; and it was not caused in/by the existing ones: I think this makes the accuracy of the prediction all the more meritorious...), and everything was already planned in advance. The accuracy of the prediction has saved several tens of thousands of deaths... Interesting reflection on how much it pays for nations to invest in science: I hope that we ourselves will be the first to be convinced... You don't eat to be a world champion in football, and if not, ask Brazil or Uruguay...

For those who don't know anything about La Palma, it may be more familiar to you because of its nickname: "La Isla Bonita".
It is the second most westerly Spanish island "close" to America, more or less on the northernmost tip of the state of Florida.

I would also like to reassure North Americans (Canada, USA, Bermuda and Mexico) and Caribbean people who know what a big eruption/earthquake that could collapse the western slopes of La Palma could mean : scientists consider it highly improbable that this is "that" "fatal" eruption and rule out the risk of a megatsunami (remember that the last one in Southeast Asia will be a "toy" compared to this one...):
