“They all moved away from me on the bench there…..”

Arlo played at our local county fair many years ago and after he finished he announced he would be heading over to the dunk tank and all the proceeds would go to Viet Nam Vets…..

I’m not shittin you, literally the whole crowd got up and some RAN over to get in line. Five bucks a throw and I didn’t see anyone let less than 4 go (it has been a long time). The regular guy in that tank had some great lines and had obviously been doing it
I’m old and gettin softer all the time but THAT is the kind of thing I’ll take with me for the ride……
Did you know Alice Brock ( the Alice from the song) just passed away on November 20th, she was 83. Would have been really wild if she had died on Thanksgiving... RIP Alice.

Yes our local station WMVY made that sad news part of the lead up to Arlo’s Massacre which they play every Thanksgiving at noon ET. Arlo had to stop performing it seems like a couple years or more now as well. All of us getting long in the tooth. WMVY and Polly the DJ on the mic Thanksgiving day did a nice job including Alice in all the programming.

Honestly it has been crazy for me trying to finish trimming my outdoor crop. I got a bit out over my skis back in May popping over 100 seeds, including 15 Tom Hill Haze and a bunch of various SE Asian strains. By September the SE Asians were barely flowering and I realized they were doing their thing based upon hours of darkness not biological maturity. It all sunk in when I read a Tom Hill post somewhere about how he uses canopies to shade parts of his grow to get them to flower in sync with the actual season. I’d never thought about the genetics of their home environment really driving them to the finish line.

Where I’m at darkness drops to around 13 hours in late September so any real stacking of flower will start then not based upon how far along they are from seed. Lesson well learned. I was despondent and humiliated to realize my mistake. With frost fast approaching I figured they were never gonna reach their full potential. Last fall I had some Ace Thai A5 outside I brought indoors and under a CMH to finish but it died on me just before I had to leave for Toronto for a week. They turned out ok but nothing near potential.

Anyway, when the weather here got unusually sunny and dry in October and even into November I got really lucky. They all started to bulk up and I was able to finish them fairly respectfully. I’ve got just a handful of RSCO Burmese left to trim and bag up. Those beans were very vigorous from day one and the purple phenos turned almost black late in flower.

More Grove bags will hopefully arrive today and I’ll have a chance to relax. This little Arlo episode was just what I needed to appreciate the present tense in a healthy way.

Thanks again Jenn
