Dude you installed a window AC to cool off your 400watt cab? I think there has to be somthing wrong here, Do you have pics of how yur cab is setup, maybe your airflow is not correct, ie. two intake vents are better than one because you have air being drawn across more of the cab, ie cooling more efficiently. There must a more efficient way of cooling down your area.. cause adding 1000 watts of cooling to fix 400 watts of heating sounds way out of wack...

that's crazy. my intake isn't that big. not yet at least. i got maybe 50 sq inches. would u mind me asking how you got the 144 sq inches configured? a 12"x12" vent? or a couple intakes spread around?

have several temp gauges. got 3 in the cab at moment to take readings from ground 3 ft under light, a foot under light and also one getting the air above light.

I used that 1, 2, or 3 on the speed selection knob to dial in heat on the 400w.

You probably don't need as big of an intake. I know there was still enough suction with my 12x12 vent (no filter) to pull pretty hard on my black poly wall that was ducttaped and tacked (bad choices) to the walls and ceiling.

the exhaust of the fan is something between 25 and 35 square inches so your intake is probably big enough. However, I know that whenever i've increased the size of my intake it drops the temp in the cab or tent.

If you have a 6" exhaust, I think you should have at least 100 sq inches of intake to relieve backpressure.

cab built inside closet of a room

You might have answered this earlier, but do youkeep the door to your closet or room closed all day? either of these could cause your temps to drift up through the day, increasing more quickly as the day (in terms of your light cycle) goes on. If its just the door to your room and with only 400w, i can't see the temps drifting more than 10 degrees during a 12 hour day. If its the closet door, they could drift as much as 20*F during the same 12 hour day IME.

2 closet doors. 1 stays open and i closed. perhaps just REMOVING both doors for sake of less heat trapped. also, 3 - 4 inch gap between top of box and closet ceiling maybe i could fit some tiny fans up there to circulate that no doubted warm air just lurkin there

added 2nd stanley blower and hooked it up to intake. the intake is vented directly from the a/c unit through several ft of ducting into cab where it is hooked up to 2nd stanley. the stanley then blows this cold air directly at the lights. so far so good. have to let it simmer for a bit

i don't get it, i had 2 400's in a 8 or 9 sq ft cab. i was pulling the hot air from a vent on top of the hood, not even sealed to it just right above it. and i had one of those like floor/window fans going across everything.

anyways, temps at night are 63ish and daytime temps are at 68-80. this is definately alot better, but i'd like to lower that 80 a lil bit to maybe 75. some more experimenting is in order. perhaps better air circulation, but i already have 3 fans inside cab. hmmm.... will report back!
