Ace Hardware had this fan on the shelf, in my area, last week. Score!!
Home Depot doesn't stock them around here and I refuse to shop at WallFart.

6" flexible ducting, Aluminum tape, 6" starter collar, some cardboard from the box the fan came in and I piped the output directly to the intake of my window A/C unit. ($99 Home DeCannabis)

Keeps my area at a toasty 71F at that's with 150wpsqft using a 1K HPS in an almost 3' by 4 foot area. :yoinks:

The question you gotta ask yourself is...... Do you think it's growing, Punk!?
Well..... Do ya?!

:D We'll see. :D

I saw these in Walmart today. Then i saw they had one on in a section where they were cleaning. There seemed to be a lof air moving around and not much noise. Not something you could exactly hear behind closed doors. Hmmm. Ideas....

Been using my Stanley fan with 6" -> 4" reducer used it to air cool a 1000w hood and now my CFL box, it's a work horse and cheap!

Is there anything that is more quiet than this fan but works about as well?

Everybody's relation to sound is different. But put this bitch pulling thru insulated duct into a sound deadened box and it works for me. Plus by a watts per volume of pressured air moved, impossible to beat.

$36 bucks at good ol wally world
'Tis the season ....
Time of the yr to be keeping an eye out for the fan deals at your local grow shops -- Lowes, HD, Wally etc.
What section to they keep the blowers in Walmart? Rarely go and they rearranged between my last visits. Hate the damn place, but not bad enough i can score on a hit & run.
Thanks -------- CB

Still going

Still going

Have used mine for a year now almost continuously pulling through a hood, 400W cmh, plus dragon filter. Keeps temps ca. 4 degrees above ambient, smooth, fairly quiet. A good economical choice.

One 20X20" 3M furnace filter restricts the airflow too much and things heat up in my grow.

I'm looking for a simple cardboard light trap design that will work with 2 20x20" furnace filters in it and not slow down my 250cfm Stanley. I figure with two filters I can get enough air-flow that things will work the way they do now.

The opening the light-trap needs to cover is approximately 22x22".

Any suggestions?

(This is messing with me for some reason and I can't picture it in my head yet. :()

Edit: Turns out the major issues were with the cardboard not being cut square. Wierd but as soon as I cut the tattered edges off I was able to quickly figure out how to cut and tape it to make a light trap. Gah! Autism is NOT fun for a lot of things for me. Doesn't help that I've been running on leaf for a week or so now. Heh.
