SSV site says its $250, can you get it cheeper? I really don't want to spend much more than 150.

imo the "vapor to air" argument is irrelevant, because efficiency with vapor is in smaller hits. a huge vapor hit will make you cough hard, and you'll end up exhaling thc. so unless you have power lungs, i'd just get a buddha.

bong + buddha is a good choice, i can hook mine up without the attachment. tubing fits right into the diffuser. from there u can take monster rips, and it's nice to add moisture. vapor seems to chap up your lips bad.

I'll say it again Cano all the fucking way, no other vape will compare

I don't get why in every vape thread there's someone always pushing the volcano into it. I love the volcano, and I'm a user/owner/supporter of. It's my only/favorite vaporizer, but the OP clearly doesn't have 500 bucks to just throw one item. He clearly stated it's between the buddha, and ssv. I love the volcano, and it's marvellous. It's just not the only choice out there. There are many other alternatives out there. Some great, and others not so much. The OP may even be just looking for a whip style vaporizer; which the "cano" is not. Anyways I just wanted to express what I was feelings. Like i said before I'd say get a bong, and da buddha. This way you can get two new toys, or you just go all out with a SSV. I'd go with my suggestion, but the choice is yours.

Who ever says volcano is gonna get slapped

There's always one numbskull. I like the ssv because it's like an art piece and looks nice on the shelf. I have the bubbler attachment for it and adding moisture is the sh^t. Didn't think about hooking it to my bong, thanks for the idea

Is there any difference between the SSV and buddha aside from cosmetic glass knobs etc?

Deft- The difference between the SSV and Da Buddah from what i've read is just cosmetic other then something about a glass piece being smaller on the SSV and Da buddah's being bigger. I think it's what dbuzz was hitting on about the vapor to air thing. I'm sure someone can explain it better.

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions. I also think the volcano is a little overhyped. When I first ran across the volcano i used to always think it was the best vape ever. After i started reviewing them all it seems the SSV is the better choice not to mention cheaper. I think the bag idea is cool but i'd rather have a whip for day to day use.

Anyways I think i've pretty much got my mind made up and i'm going to go with Da Buddah. I'll also pick me up a new bong, a pipe and probably a few other small things.

the first gen of ssv and dbv had the same internals but now they both have diffrent internals please look at this thread befor you buy one this thread is only about the ssv/dbv and has tons of info pics and even movies of paul himself hitting and talking about the ssv/dbv here are 3 images from the thread paul has also dun the hammer test and these vaps are very strong it still worked beautifully tokinGLX is not the same paul that works at 7th floor hes just very good friends with them

vap hits are dry and will dry out your mouth/throat so vaping threw a bong/bubbler is recomended

the official ssv/dbv thread

as you can see the ssv has a smaller opening from the heating element this makes for a denser vape to air ratio also with the angle of the ssv you dont spill anythng out of your bowl

I wouldn't go as far saying the volcano is overrated, because it's a great machine. What I will say though is that people just need to realize it's not the only choice out there.

bump. I have opinions.:tiphat:

With the use of bags, the volcano is a more 'social' way to vape, "puff, puff, pass the bag". Where the SSV ( I have 3) is pretty much a one user game where participants must sit themselves in in front of or in a small semi-circle (how long is the whip going to be?!) to get a hit. A PITA in a living room, 'watch the game/having a party setting.

BTW, portables are not typical of the likes of an SSV or volcano and for the most part, if your buying a portable, youre buying the hype behind it and wasting your money, they aren't very good... all of them.

but after many years with these ssvs' I 'tried' the ground glass heater cover and wands. IMO, the little pecker shaped standard ssv heater cover is gaabage for the mating of the wand to the heater cover in comparison, like having a hole in a joint.. With the GG set up I've turned down the heat a 1/4 turn. Bong type hits EVERY TIME! Now, like aircooled hoods or 400w ballasts, I have SSV heater covers 'on the shelf'.
