Only spider in Finland that can get through your skin and inject venom. But it needs a thin spot of skin to get through. LS is about 2.5cm.

...perfect time to whip out the WD40 and lighter...

WD40 is made nonflammable now. I remember in grade school flipping through a science book to check up on the ph scale. It had examples listed for each ph content, and for 14 which I believe is the highest, it had oven cleaner as an example.

I found a spider in my bathroom once, fat, big, and pregnant. At first I didn't know it was pregnant and took one of my shoes off and smacked it....well literally a second before my shoe would've smashed it about 200 little tiny ass baby spiders shot in all different directions.

I flipped the hell out, ran into my kitchen and got some oven cleaner, ran back to the spiders which suprizingly hadn't moved at all and gave them a good ol' taste of oven cleaner. It every single one curl up as if it had been burned by a lighter. MMMmm the sweet smell of victory.

I don't have any pictures of spiders, but we've got our fair share them around our apartment complex.

Let's see, the Daddy Long Legs up in our a/c ducts we leave alone. He never bothers anyone, comes out occasionally and sits on the vent slats for a while before disappearing back into the vent.

Then we've got the spider web & it's resident between the 2nd floor railing and roof overhang. I don't fuck with that thing, no idea what it is, and don't intend to find out if it's poisonous. Looks like a nasty SOB, though....

Oh, yeah, heh, there used to be a Milk spider living in my apt. mailbox. I went to check the mail one night, opened up the box, stuck my hand in to grab the mail, and brushed the web. I jerked my hand right the fuck back out with just enough clearance to see the friggin' bitch charging my hand from the back of the box. Promptly slammed it shut, yanked my key out, and ran back inside. Told my hubby I needed him to identify and remove a spider from the mailbox. At the time, I didn't know what kind it was, and I wasn't going to fuck with it, I'd already pissed it off enough.

I fuckin' hate spiders, though, but I don't bother them unless they bother me. My hubby keeps threatening to get a god damn tarantula, though. I keep telling him he can go to hell.

Wouldn't ya think that instead of wasting money going to the moon, they'd do something that would help us all out and make anti spider spray. Something you could spray around your windows etc that wil scare em away. The inventor of that stuff would never have to work again.

In kindergarten my teacher had a pet tarantula. Gargemel I think it was (you know, the evil guy from the Smurfs). Knowing that I was afraid of spiders she made me the designated spider feeder for the first half of the year. Needless to say, that bastard went hungry.
Funny thing, I hate spiders....used to be downright terrified of them. But I love scorpions. I will seek them out and play with them when the oppurtunity presents itself. I have been stung by a few, great jumpin god almighty that hurts, but they are still kinda fun. Now when they show up underfoot, and your drunk and barefoot, they aint no fun. But still, I would rather see them than a spider.

Drop for drop the Black Widows venom is more powerful than a rattesnakes.

I found my hand inches away from a large widow last night, while dumping an outdoor trash can at work. They are everywhere here.

They generally dont bother me as I usually know where to expect them. Shaded/sheltered area's near the ground. Woodpiles, storage sheds etc.

They usually chill out of sight during the day, and come out to hunt @ night. They dont wander around to hunt, they just kick it in their web, which is almost always built from the ground up, with many tiny sensor lines attatched to the ground, alerting her when potential prey is cruisin' by.

I actually really enjoy watching em, infact all spiders fascinate me. Just the Black widow more-so, probably cuz they are so common here, and North America's most venemous eight legged freak.

Aww, a family shot

Not to stir up shit but the Mojave Rattlesnake drip per drip is much more toxic than the Black Widow. However for some reason I'd much rather pick up a poisonous snake than a deadly spider.

Its cool, I beleive ya. Thats just what ive heard on nature shows n' stuff.

I figured they meant by volume, as in a Widows vemon is more potent but a widow doesnt have nearly as much as a rattlesnake ...

That is possible. I just know I survived a Black Widow bite, however I'm thinking if I stepped on a Mojave the chances would be much less optimistic.

Either way I'll admit the Black Widow is an interesting spider, it's an efficient killer and a horrible wife. However that doesn't stop me from killing them anytime I see em, I leave the males though, they have it tough as it is.

Couple shots here of some local spiders. Spiders have cutting type mouthparts so even if they're not venimous to humans, like the Argiope aurantia in the first pic, they can give you a couple good cuts to think about. Mmmmmm spiders.

I dont mind having them around, i just keep at safe distance. But if i find one in my house, he's either goin outside, or goin squish.

You DON'T want to get bitten by this sucker. Fortunately, they're only in Australia. Watch out Wally!
