Spice of Life (WWS) "Adventure Mix"-- based on Sweet Tooth...

Anybody grow from this mix before? Or any Sweet Tooth feedback? I just ordered 15 "Adventure Mix" beans and hope to put them in organic soil grow for a first round of new crosses, from an existing set of very interesting gene pool tadpoles... (if you follow me) ;)

"Adventure Mix":
A lot of Sweet Tooth... Shishkeberry, Blue Domino, Big Treat, California Dream, Tropical Treat, Jack Herer, Ortega, Strawberry, M39 - all hit with a Sweet Tooth. These male plants were put around the perimeter of the last Sweet Tooth garden specifically for a lovely Adventure Mix. If you are just looking for some new mothers and aren't as concerned with pedigree, you will find a wide variety of very original plants in here.

Thanks in advance!! This will be my first grow with "real" genetics... bagseeds no more!!!!!

Hey Santa , Sounds like fun . I have grown out several SoL strains from seed including Sweet Tooth #3 & #4 , Legends Ultimate Indica , and Shishkaberry #3 . The Ultimate Indica is my favorite , its a cross of an Ortega female and 2nd backcross Sweet tooth male . from 1 pack of L.U.I had 7 females which were all very similar to the straight Sweet Tooth , kinda subtle grapefruit / cannnalope taste and smell , short stout plants with very dense buds etc. . But among those 7 females was one very special plant with an extremely pungent aroma of Pez candy and wild blueberries and tasted even better . Easily twice as good as her next best sibling . Unfortunetly she was the lowest yielding of the bunch , but her not so dense buds proved to be a godsend as all her rock hard sisters were very succceptable to bud mold . This seems to be a common problem among many growers working with Sweet Tooth . Don't get me wrong ... do start those seeds , I am sure you will find a keeper . just remember to keep a close eye on humidity if indoors .

Good luck and have Fun !!

ok, its been a while!!!!

ok, its been a while!!!!

the original six seeds that germinated over nine months ago are now finally ready to do some interesting stuff... The reason why i am talking about seeds that started in april of last year, is that the grow still goes on!! How did we get here?? I'll tell you!

I started the seeds a in april, but i knew we were leaving on a long vacation in august. i raced to get the plants fully going, flowered, and harvested in that period but it didnt work out that way. what i decided to do was keep the six plants going in vegetative mode while we were gone.

Now we were gone for THREE MONTHS, and five of the six plants survived until our return. These six plants are actually CLONES off the original seeds, they are not plants from those seeds themselves. ok, so i cloned them, vegged them, saw that i wasnt going to be able to do anything by the time we had to leave, and aborted trying to flower them. I had already placed them in 5-gal buckets, but knew that there was no way in hell the buckets could hold enough water to last three months. so i cut the bottoms out of the buckets, and placed them on TOP of other buckets, full of SOAKED soil. I also soaked the top buckets' soil. What i was gambling was that the roots would only grow into the lower buckets AS THEY NEEDED, thereby reducing the likelihood of the roots actually rotting. the gamble worked, for the most part: five of the six original clones survived (under up-high flourex CFs).

They were very spindly and drawn out, so i decided to just cut them up yet again and make a third generation of clones... i took about 25 cuttings, and only two of them failed to root. Now most of them are all in LST in a downstairs closet while six others are in two stages of flowering. of the six flowering plants, two of them are about two weeks away from harvest, four more are in maybe thier third week (showing puffy lil florettes so far ;)). I just wanted to type all this out ... i will take pics and upload later. LST is taking a long time, but i think it will be worth it. these plants are VERY mature, several of them are autoflowering!! like i say, pics later!! :)

i just realized this is in the breeders forum, maybe a mod could move it to the soil grow section as i intend to use this to start a grow journal :) :woohoo:

here are some pictures....

here are some pictures....

vegcloset left --all these are lst -- all clones but the one in foreground right ... two of the remaining seeds from the original wws order back a year ago germed in november and that big one there has shown female... all of the clones are basically 8mos old so they are very mature and some are autoflowering

vegcloset right -- again lst -- all clones but one

the nicest recent-germ seed plant, most impressive plant, in LST in air-injected 5-gal pot (dual outlet air pump, each outlet feeding a seperate 5" airstone)

a lst clone i moved up to flower two weeks ago:

another lst clone, two weeks of flower:

this and the next are some buds off some plants ive had in flower prolly six weeks now... didnt keep track, ill harvest when they look ready.

based on the look of the trichromes...

based on the look of the trichromes...

i cut the top buds off some of the plants... as you can see the trichs are all cloudy (no ambers, but i want to try a high-high feeling on these buds. there is more coming down the pike, and i want to move these out to make room for more new ones ;)

shitty yield...underfed, underwatered

cloudiness, this is why i cut these smallish buds

i also under watered and underfed the veg/lst plants, purposely to grow roots throughout the pot. id just sprinkle a little water on the top of the soil every day or two. the little moisture seeped down very slowly and as a result the roots are very fine, and very well distributed throughout the root ball (this is in 8" pots). you can actually see how they started out at the bottom and actually rise up to the soil surface! (during transplant to 3gal or fivegal bucket). anyways, ive lately been dosing them with more water and more nutes lately and the growth has taken off. that big mother with the dual airstones ive been watering quite a bit, and its growing very fast. i am LSTing it like crazy right now, but i want to take clones from it pretty soon. probably within a week. i want to let it grow enough so that once the clones are taken, there are still a few nodes below for additional dense branching to take place. All the other buckets that have air injection have only one airstone each, so i dont water them as agressively. eventually i will collect more air pumps (using dual-output $10 aquarium pumps from wallyworld) and will be putting dual stones at the bottom of all the flowering buckets, as they get transplanted and put under the sodiums. just thought id add that.... im kind of getting caught up as you can see. but this is going to be the exciting part. im going to transplant and put into flowering all those plants you see in the veg chamber pics (cept that big mother and perhaps a couple of other other nice plants i want to keep for mothers) in the next few weeks, and then also clone the new mothers like hell, get a shitload of clones going (i have a lot of floor space in veg relatively speaking), then rotate *those* into flowering in ever-increasing rates until i get a sog type situation going. i want to produce a SHITLOAD of bud before the summertime starts, so i can quit this "hobby" for a lil while!! its been a lot of work and very little results up to this point, and im ready to get agressive. ;)

Made some changes, took some pics!!

Made some changes, took some pics!!

ok i decided to make some changes. here are some clones i took from a couple of the plants... not actually the best looking plants, but what the hell. i am going to root these, transplant in two weeks, then put them into flower in 8" pots:

this is a nicer plant. you can see its bonsai-type structure. the plant stem is twisted up and around pretty tightly, and that side branch came off, etc.

this is a side view of butter... shes grown about 2-3" since the last shot i posted:

this is the right hand side of the garden, tips of my best LST ladies up under a shelf on the right side of the closet. until i can get more bigger buckets, airstones, pumps, etc, im just going to keep these lades as mothers, taking clones as the tips grow a good six nodes or so, so when i cut the clone, i can leave two nodes behind to make more branches/tips. i expect to have a lot of clones!

another shot of the same plants:

again:

tops:

this is what the lights look like from the plants' perspective (65w flourex security lights)

this is the left side of the garden, the not-so nice plants are on the left of this pic, and a nice LST lady there in the corner with the ghetto mylar (mylar xmas wrap scraps) is growing more tips. I think that plant is going to go into flower when i take out the four almost-done plants that i already cut some buds from. that one has a single airstone in it, no aquarium rocks. an earlier attempt at the air-injection thing. all future injected buckets will have a good 3" of aquarium rocks at the bottom to ensure that the airstones can breathe. either that or perlite or etc.

thats all for now!! i will definitely be taking more and more clones... im going to grow enough to last all summer so i can put all this away for a while :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: (i like this smiley :p)

more pics!!

more pics!!

what the hell, right? ;)

this is Butter again. you can see how much she's grown in a single day. gotta love air injection!!!

the clones have also perked up as you can see. they are on a shelf above the other veg plants, plenty warm and they love that flourex light. single 65w fixture for the six. Im going to have to expand this setup as i will have many clones coming down the pike. ive actually decided to make a bubblecloner and possibly go over to a hydro SOG with a second light...

Thats it for now!! i love this website! it makes it really easy to handle these pics!! :)

smoke report

smoke report

ok well here is that :joint: report i promised. The smoke has had a very nice high. I must have spent my whole life smoking indica because ive never smoked a sativa "up" high like this before. Its very very smooth and fruity, you *feel* smooth when youre high on it. Fairly powerful too. I took these buds a lil early so I expected something different. As soon as I can take a ton more clones (am seriously thinking of going with bubble cloner and maybe a SOG bubble bucket as soon as i can get some more lights. i really want to get one of those $99 ebay HPS400s and open another patch of ground specifically for SOG... ;) :joint: :joint:

more moving around...

more moving around...

took out one of the flowering plants that id already been picking off of, and put one of the smaller LST bushes up in flowering in its place. its in a 3-gal bucket, looks nice but with small leaves. i also watered all the vegging plants with superthrive and MG tomato ferts (1/2 strength) after reading the superthrive thread. too lazy/sick to take pics... will get some later. :joint: :lurk:
