Fucking insaaaane dude. Seriously bubbleman how do I do, what you do.....

Heres the best I can come up with so far in my macro adventures. I'm using a 70-200mm with an extension tube, do I need a macro lens to get those dank shots you have?

Hey Doobieduck.. thanks for popping in..always a huge compliment to be given props from such a great photographer such as yourself.. thank you very much

ICETOKER: .. thanks my friend believe it or not.. alot of my inspiration comes from having a place for people to see the shots.. this community is a huge inspiration upon itself getting us all to step it up always.. Big up the icmag family

MY GREEN TOE : well its hard to answer that question.. what my lens is is a 5:1 ... its the Canon MPE 65mm and in my opinion is the flagship of Macro lens. NO billows no tubes.. no inverted lens.. just one beautiful piece of glass.> of course a Canon 24Mt ex dual flash is a neccesity if you dont want extremly dark shots..

Noreason.. the glass is the 65mm MPE canon macro lens and the flash is the 24MT ex dual flash.. my body is a 5D canon.

Caligreen: nice shots dude.. i know how hard it is without THIS lens.. i have a regular 1:1 60mm canon lens and its impossible to get as nice a shot with as my MPE.. as hard as i try..
If you want to get shots like the ones im posting.. i suggest invest in the lens .. its worth every penny.. a whole macro world out there waiting to be discovered.. cannibis will lead you in.. but soon you discover
there so much more out there..

MR X: thank you sir..

Bubble man

Enjoy

I was almost certain you had used that glass.1-5 x...and without any extra tube is fantastic. When I'll get some money to spend on my camera,I'll buy it.Do you think the dual flash is a must have for bright shots?

Thanks a lot for answering bubbleman and keep posting such beautiful macros

nice pics, I just purchased my sigma 150mm macro lens, it dropped outa my camera bag and snapped off the camera, the housing connection broke so i got a $1200 peice of junk sitting right here, and some useless macro mt24ex flash that cost even more, goddammit!

Nice work with the MPE 65mm though, you got the skills down, they are hard to use, did you do any focus stacks with any of those pics?

Wow sorry to hear about your lens.. i would look into getting it fixed by either an independant.. or Sigma themselves. Probably going to be way less than 1200.. i would think several hundred.. maybe a bit more.
either way sucks for sure.

The shots are all single shots... crops mostly with a bit of sharpening.

Havent dont many stackz or combinz.. as i find the haloining to be a bit much.. never got good at it i guess

Peace

Beautiful images Bubbleman. :artist: I've become quite fascinated with macro photography this year. Managed to capture (more out of luck) some nice shots, after shooting gigs of images for hours and hours at a time. I've been looking at the MPE 65mm for quite awhile now...first started reading up on it before the summer due to the 1x~5x magnification...it WILL be my next lens. I use a Canon EOS50D, EFS 60mm Canon macro lens, tripod, and ring flash (and sometimes regular flash built on the 50D).

Are you using a focus rail with the MPE 65mm lens?

Awesome shots Bubbleman! Just beautiful! :good:

Hi bubbleman...I'm kinda all over...lol...in between the dam, Spain, and UK. I don't think I'll be able to hook up in the dam as there's other garden responsibilities elsewhere right now. Very sorry but it looks like I'll miss you on this trip, and that's a bummer....I would really enjoy the opportunity of watching you 'in action' again. I am very happy to say that at the ICM 420 Cup this past April my first attempt at a bubble hash entry (using YOUR awesome bags!) produced a 3rd place cup for my efforts. I'll send you a pm about this and another matter. ;)

Stunning images! :artist: :good:
