Oaksterdam Nursery Cutting - Oakland, CA

Oaksterdam Nursery Cutting - Oakland, CA

Here's the entry from the 2010 Spring catalog:

Genetics: Purple Elephant x Chemdog X Sour Diesel

Flower Time: 7-8 Weeks

Effect: Strong, cerebral, and medicinal. Not heavy or drowsy.

Bouquet: Sweet white grapes with a hint of diesel.

Environment: Indoor / Outdoor

Plant Height: Tall

Availability: Oaksterdam's nurseries in NorCal and LA

Description: Sour Grapes gives off the pleasant aroma of grape juice as it flowers. But don't be fooled by the purplish hue. This is a sativa-dominant hybrid. It is a good yielder that likes to grow tall and is a good candidate for low stress training.

--

I bought an 8th of this bud from the Berkeley Patient's Group last month and I have to say it is a very well-balanced hybrid. I don't like too strong or pure a sativa, but the indica base of this bud's effect is very present without the head getting away from you. I was very impressed with this strain as far as medicinal use goes.

Enjoy,

PS - If you've never been to the nursery's cutting store front in Oakland, it's on 17th street between Franklin and Webster (a few doors down from the Blue Sky coffee shop, closer towards Franklin). They open at 7am daily (the cuttings store, not talking about the coffee shop) and most people will start lining up around 6am. They usually sell out by 11am on any given day...so if you are coming in from out of town...make sure you plan accordingly. The cuttings that don't sell when they close down move over to the coffee shop, but don't count on cuttings of every listed strain being available at Blue Sky...you need to go to the cuttings store (which they stock daily).

Its at 377 17th st, oakland. Better get there early if you do otherwise your most likely not to get what you want. Got pics of Sour grapes in my gallery if you want to check it out.

Just curious I'm on the east coast. How much are clones?

Depends on if you go to a dispensary/nursery or if you buy direct from clone dealers. In the clubs I've seen them as high as $20/cutting and as low as $6/each. Depends on the quality of the genetics, how many you buy, etc.

Oaksterdam sells in six-packs or singles. The other clubs I belong to all sell singles. But I'm a seed grower, so I tend not to watch their price points.

Peace,

Real Sour Grapes is not a clone only and the Bluesky version is a fake. They named a cut they got as that, but the real cut has been around for a while and that isnt the correct genetic makeup of the origianal. They just stole the name to cash in on the hype. Kinda like their Green Kush or whatever they are calling the Green Crack clone these days. Just cause we got dispensaries in Cali dont mean they are worth anything especially when renaming clones that have been around way longer than they have. Peace!

And if you knew anything about Richard's policies, you'd know he disapproves of any strain with a name that relates to street drugs.

Green Cush is their product name for Green Crack genetics. If you'd just talk to the lab staff who actually do the breeding work for the nursery strains (Tariq, Joey, Dan, etc), you'd know this. :)

Peace,

could be wrong but I've heard old heads all what is now known as Green Crack "Cush" and specified that it was with a C not the "Kush california stuff." iirc it came from Athens, GA a short drive from me, we constantly have a ton of commercial green crack floating through the mountains here, I love the stuff

This strain is originally called Grape Stomper and was bred by Keyplay. It was renamed sour grapes at the dispensaries and from what I can tell there's lots of controversy over it. The lineage above is correct though. Thats what i was told grape stomper is from a Non-Dispensary source.

I know all about his policies, especially the ones where he tries to monopolize the market with his thinly veiled attempts at legislation and all about his policies of selling hermies to patients. So I am supposed to stand up and recognize that he has a thing against clones named after street drugs? Why didnt he go back to the original name then? Kush or Georgia Cush, or Green Kush? Couldnt have been money$ now could it? Breeding? You serious? Tariq, Joey and Dan! Thats funny shit!!

You see I can also spot a employee who conviently offers every little detail about how to get to Richards shop, best times to show up, clone descriptions etc... Now go tell Rich you been outed already.

Now the thread is about the genetics of the strain not who you work for.

Neutral corners, gentlemen.

Whatever the origins/lineage, I am no connoisseur, but had friends visiting the Bay this summer around the time of the hydro show in SF. They sampled Sour Grapes in late-July and still get misty-eyed when they speak of it. And these are dudes who know some shite about shite. (Unlike me.)
