SOUR DUBBLE INFO THREAD

Hi All! I came across a single seed in a half ounce of legal bud grown by Clearwater Genetics labeled as Sour Dubb. Although I had stopped growing several years ago I never lost the bug and I saved that seed for whenever the time was right. I don't think these times are necessarily "right" but I did see an opportunity to get back into growing when a certain virus shut down the world as we know it.

So here I am 56 days after the flip to 12/12 and I have a beautiful plant in the finishing stretch of flower. The consensus seems to be to harvest at 56 days but this girl appears to need a few more days. I've always started my flowering counter when the grow tips start forming flowers in clusters. It took 11 days after the flip to get to this point so I figure I should be looking to chop in another week or so. But some may consider that 56 days to start with the flip to 12/12.

So when exactly do all of you great growers start the flowering counter for your Sour Dubb plants? This plant has an intoxicating smell that I don't want to lose by being too patient. This isn't my only shot with this plant as I saved cuttings and have a mother but she will be the first of my Covid crop to get the chop and I want to get it right after this long of a wait to smoke my own product.

Yeah I know pics help but that's something else I will obsess over and spend way too much time on so I'd rather just solicit some opinions on this specific strain. Thanks in advance!

The globally agreed method is to start counting when you flip to 12/12. Everything else would be guessworkand very individual at best. Yes you won't see anything for the first week or so, but that does not matter for when you flip, the change into flowering starts and that's how we do it.
Good luck and don't wreck your brain over it ;-)

Anybody know what’s the closest I can get to this in seed form? Is bogs sour bubble the closest I can find

Sour Dubb s1, s2... Finding any of these would be hard. Sour Bubble would not give you the same. SB is still very good.

In 2018, I crossed Sour Dubble to an unknown narrow leaf plant, whose seeds were gifted to me. By the looks and flavor, the unknown appears to be a Thai from the mid 70s. It was loaded with trichomes, but had only head high. I named it Bucksaw, for the serrated thin saw like leaves

3 out of 4 females grown were awesome cultivars with very special strong flavor, and an intense high. One of the plants ( Dubbsaw 2) is just way over the top. I dont ever recall a high like that in 50 years.

It hits hard and fast, and can be emotional. My son compares it to a small hit of DMT. Hours of time travel in the comfort of your own home

Hands down, best cross Ive done in years, and maybe ever

Been smoking on some sour dubb lately and I literally can’t get enough of it. I’m almost tempted to say it’s taken over as my favorite smoke. I just smoked a bowl and a dab of it, left the room, did some work in the garden for 30 mins and it still smells like I just smoked in the room when I came back. That’s what I’m talking about. Lol.

Hey hammerhead, just grabbed the sour dubb
was wondering if you had any tips to get the most out of her since you’ve been growing her for so long
I’ve heard she’s not the best yielder but that there’s also exceptions

Third time through on my Sour Dubb bag seed. Not as frosty as some of the pics in this thread but she smells and tastes divine. This plant is at 60 days and I'm planning on chopping in less than a week.

So does she look like a direct descendant of the original cut?

I just started some biscotti x sour dubb from bloom seed co super excited to get a dubb cross in the garden. I just spent 3 months traveling and sour dubb is one of the only things I didn’t get to sample. I was super bummed oh well there is always next trip. Untill then maybe I’ll find something worthy in these.

You might see some slight fake variegation. Its caused by a mag deficiency. She doesn't have that great of bag appeal. Yields will vary depending on the training used. I dont let her go more than 60-65 days max to save the terps/Flav. She loses a lot of that aroma the longer you take her.
