Sour Diesel vs OG vs Chem since all are different

Since most all of us love these strains, and they are obviously different with each having their own unique smells, flavors, and looks...

which one do you guys like the best?

I remember lip-smackingly sour sour diesel in 2003 where im from...it was the rage and if you had a choice of things, you took the sour d


i honestly cant decide which i like more...so im growing them all

Its NOTTA tough???? Ecsd 84 days blows everything out the water but so many fakes n shitty grown sour probably less then 10% had proper proper sour... n if it wasnt bought in east coast it was mostlikley not the legendary sour..,, if it was it be ur number1..... bet og gets the most votes.,,, chems are all nice but sour takes it home....

1. sour 2. OG 3. Chem although there is a lot of things I prefer more then the over powering chem funk unless you're talking about the 91 I have grown a 91 hybrid and really liked it.

i like OG a lot but I have grown quite a bit of it, I am personally kind of sick of it. I have the ECSD flowering now, I am really looking forward to that one.

yup i don't know how you compare real east coast to the rest. i can see how original diesel is similar to the chems or ogs but i still don't get how the east coast pops out of that lineage

I gotta vote sour. The sour that I can occasionally still get is just od funk. Swollen bracts, not too resinous but the potency is just unreal.

There are many different sours out there but I have to guess that the most fire one I have encountered had to have been the ecsd.

But I heard from reliable source that underdog og >ecsd.

I always thought the sour was pretty weak sauce compared to the others with it's 30 min high and spongy super skunk like texture no matter how long it goes.. I liked the 4 a lot too bad it likes to turn brown inside of a couple months no matter how it is stored. TK is nice as well some of the other OG's. All of the latter burn like thick buckets full of grease compared to the former. I kinda like that. Hands down though,, Sour makes the best hash, a seemingly contradicting statement but true. In fact i have never seen a plant stand up to all method of concentrate extraction as well as sourd does..

i will agree with you there TH, The Sour Diesel, albeit possibly the dankest flavor in cannabis, was not the strongest herb...probably young naive and was used to indica dominant hybrid buds and translated the lighter and less couch-locked high as to being a little weaker strain...or was those specific plants we were getting...who knows

bowls and ( very regretably ) blunts burned fast as hell of that diesel.


i think the bit more airiness of the Sour D makes for better (easy) extraction...the denser the nugs the harder it is to fully extract.....same theory as breaking up nugs to smoke..if they crumble to super dense little balls of nug hard t get lit and burn vs. instead of fluff ya know

sour d profile must have lots non-water soluble terpenes to maintain such a good flavor through bubble
some strains maintain through water-some dont,

i think the lighter composition of the SD lets the extraction flow evenly and quicker, giving a cleaner run.

If the solvent can freely rinse through the material and flows a slightly faster rate there is less time for pulling unwanteds from the material.

denser material will flow more slowly and create pockets...just my opinion

I think we can put sour d dry sieve hash and equal of another variety though the same solvent based extractions and find there is more to it than bud density. The best parts of sour d just seem to hold up better and a greater portion of them come though in the wash with flying colors.

I have always too noted the greasy varieties are what i tend to gravitate towards and felt they made better (at least water extracted) hash too compared to what one might define as sticky, u can just feel which ones will go through the process better.

Then along came a good friend and colleague of mine recently hinting that these greasy phenotypes have a singular terpene in common, very interesting stuff. It could be certain terpenes act as (for lack of a better word) excellent preservatives for others..

We shall see.
