I thought most plants yield 250-450 grams (250 being skimpy)? I know white russian plants yield around the 400 range. (or so i have heard.) Thats why i was surprised

ok. I get around .75 to 1 oz per ONE GALLON bag with a 4.5 foot ceiling and cool tubes. As long as you keep the ph around 6 it's super easy. It grows fast in veg and can be put in 12/12 very quickly. A decieving thing about other "fast" strains is that (for instance) Lifesaver and Bogglegum are said to be ready in 45 days or so. Before you can get a decent yield out of these in SOG you have to let them veg to practically the final height and they grow sloooow in veg. SO, all time considered, Sour Diesel is AS FAST as Lifesaver and Bogglegum, and then smoke all 3. There is no comparison. You will not find Sour Queen easily. I'm growing SD3 for the 1st time and haven't finished it yet, BUT I have grown SD2.5 for a couple of years now and I believe the SD3 is quicker. I'm also growing Basic Diesel (1st batch) (now called D39 and available @ Seedboutique) for about 3 runs and let me tell you that it's almost impossible for me to decide between my 4 mothers. If you want yield and phenominal weed THIS is for you.

I got a few nice original cut ECSD going in the budroom now, Im anxious to do these up right. Last time i ran them I had heat and ventillation concerns in the summer. They didn't do so well but the somke was incredibly delicious. I can't wait to try these babies done right. I almost lost the mom- but repotted her into fresh medium and she put out a few nice cuts. I got enough healthy cuts now- I let someone have the mom who grows outdoor- and i got two new ones.
but the sourxstinky cross i made- was so screamin- I saved five or six moms from that strain for furtur testing. The sour diesel flavor came through- but the budset is more "kush dom" and the frost is exquisite. They should be a little better yielder- but grow rather columnur- and probably need scrog or LST type training.......
the high from that is outta this world- deeper body high- and more of a kush type prefrontal head high.No burnot and no paranoia. But the pshychedelic effect was heightened if anything.
Much better anxiety strain- better for nightime. Sour D straight is a good daytime smoke for me because it doesnt get me "too stoned" like stinky does.

But im still really anxious to pop the 2nd gen SD from rez, those Im going to BX to my mom as well as carried to the third by OP (probably all the males to one or two females ) I have 13 moms- and the SD is by far one of the ones id choose if i could keep only two

So which one do you guys thinks is the best version from reservoir? I dont really care if one yields way more buds I would rather have one with medium to small yield and great smoke. So which one would I be better off with I want the one most closely related to the original ECSD as well. I am thinking IBL but is the extra $ worth the end result?

one thing I have found is that if you are using the lucas formula, your SD will require a significant amount of extra magnesium. Tall, yes, but not at all a bad yielder, unless you consider the longer flowering time.

We've had The Sour Diesel clone for several years, and have always run a (modified) Lucas Formula, ourselves, with great success, both in 'soil' and hydro.
Sour Diesel likes 6.0 pH and the following mix of GH Flora Nutes for 15 gallons of nutes:
For Flowering:
1 Cup Pink
1/2 Cup Micro
0 Green
And for Veg, run:
7/8 cup Green
3/8 cup Micro
1/8 cup Pink
(Don't forget to use GH's 'hardwater micro' if you need it!)

I'm not talking about the clone, I'm talking about SD3 by Rez, the sour pheno. how is what I said incorrect when you're not using the lucas formula? I am glad you found something that works well for you, I'll be sure to stick to what works for me if I run it again.

there are some Gems in the sour mist line....
sour wonder is a HUGE yielder , a freckin PIG! good flavor, not as much so as the mist or backcrosses tho imo...
DSD is pretty variable but there are some sour phenos to be found
thunderfuckin diesel was a decent yielder, potent smoke.... a bit sweet flavored , almost cream soda like.
the clone mom and the sour mist are my favorites for flavor tho hands down....my v3's were confiscated by the man, and i've not had a chance to grow the IBL yet tho...so we'll see

General Hydroponics Flora series has never need additional magnesium, and we can say this after running more than one hundred varietires of cannabis, both hydro and in soil, over the past decade.
If you're having issues with GH nutes, we suggest you buy the 'hardwater' micro vs. the 'regular' version, and we'd bet the farm that you'll not have magnesium uptake problems, again.
GH Flora has plenty of magnesium, your issue seems, to us, to be that the plants couldn't access it.
Try what we suggest, and see if we're not right.

I think Sour D isnt hard to grow. Its actually fun and a bit of a challenge. They can stretch a god bit so if you arent an attentive grower and dont watch your girls , shit can get out of hand fast. But if you pay attention, train them well you should have no problems. They arent like an short indica and you can just leave,they need attention is all. I have grown the 2.5's with great success and am trying 2 clones of the V3's now.
I now from my own experiance that SOur D was my first grow with a Sativa dom plant and it is a blast. Makes you want to do more SAtiva grows. Indicas are nice for the evening, but the Sour in the day keeps you moving.

Sour Diesel V3 seedlings, grown in NFT with GH hardwater 3 part under 600w Son -T PIA Green Power. Go ahead and try to find any signs of magnesium deficiency. These seedlings are 23 days old. None of them reach 20 cm (7.8 inches) yet and the fanleaves are the size of a grown man's hand. I even hold back on the CO2 because it's getting way too crowded and I haven't even flipped the lights yet. Believe me, plants with Mg def don't look like this. I've been fighting magnesium abuse in many OG threads, mostly in vain. I suppose once you're hooked on Epsom salt it's hard to just quit.
