Someone poured Mr. Bubble in my reservoir!

Okay, not really. But that's what it looks like! Check out this pic of my res:

This is a day after a molasses feeding of about 1.5 tsp per gallon of water. The nutrient program is GH 3 part, Fox Farm supplementals (Cha Ching right now), Floralicious, and Bud-XL. I have also used Hydroguard and Hygrozyme previously as needed, but not recently. This res has up till now not had any issues.

Obviously, my question here is, what do I do? I have had this happen but nowhere near this scale after molasses feedings before; it goes down in a day or two. The PH is a little low right now, around 5.3, down from 6.0 the day before.

If I don't hear back before I finish my gardening for the evening I'll probably just do a partial drain. Don't really wanna waste the pricey Bud XL I just put in there.

Oh, and here's an obligatory shot of one of the buds. Sorry for the shitty camera quality:

Thanks all...

oh the foam. if your res isnt too warm, add another airstone. it might just be too warm. but you can add hydrogen peroxide to it, looks like the roots are dark, might have a pythium or other damping off fungi about.

does the room smell like bad potatoes?

the foam is from all that dam molasis your adding its too much, its just sugar and the bacteria is eating it up and making protines with it. might want to just dump and put a new res with just H20. whats the temp of water/room?

Thanks for the responses... I did some more reading last night and saw people talk about scooping out the excess foam. But tonight there is just as much. So I am going to do a full drain.

As for my res, temps are pretty steady at 68 - 69 degrees Fahrenheit. Room temp is around 75 - 77. No bad odor either, in the room or the affected reservoir. Actually the room smells better than ever, what with my being just a couple weeks from harvest. :joint:

The roots do indeed look dark to me today -- although the pic from yesterday was normal. They have always been somewhat dark due to my use of Floralicious Plus... But they are qualitatively darker today.

Anyway, off I go to empty and refill. I also have a bottle of Cannazym, so I will administer a dose of that in the (fresh) reservoir to break down dead / damaged roots from this.

Id say just flush the system with some R-O and begin your flush.

What day flowering and what strain?

Back to normal...

Back to normal...

No pics of the res here, but it is back to normal. Thanks everyone for the advice. I am still feeding, and will start the flush by day 55 (Hashberry is a 60 - 65 day). And yes, I will definitely be going lighter with the molasses next time!

And here are some more obligatory photos taken tonight (day 49) of the HB...
