Some People Just Don't Have A Greenthumb

I was over at a friend's house lastnight and I walked into the back of his trailer to use the bathroom and I passed a room with two 10 inch tall cannabis plants.

I went into the room and inspected the plants. They looked like they were way overwatered because all the leaves were drooping and curling under and dying. The only healthy leaves were in the middle, the young leaves. The edges of the leaves were turning yellow too so maybe there's a deficeincy there as well.

I asked my friend how old the plants were and he said maybe 2 months old. 2 months old and only 10 inches tall..WTF?..not enough sunlight? They're on a dresser next to a window that recieves light in the afternoon but only for like 5 hours at most. The plants looked so awful almost close to death :fsu:

I told my friend that they might benefit from a flourescent light and some nitrogen. I didn't tell him that they looked overwatered though..I'll tell him that next time I see him if I remember.

I guess some people just don't have a greenthumb like most of us cannabis enthusiasts..but who am I to say anything when it took me like 5 tries to get some seeds germinated.

i tried to teach this one guy once, he fucked up at least 100 seeds. i germed them for him, sprouted them in peat pellets then gave them over. one by one a different death. some people just dont got it in them. others catch on so quick its not even funny.

people just need to do some reading and research before they get all pumped and jump into it.....it's pretty easy if you just keep it simple when starting out.

its all about keeping it simple. my first grow in soil with 400w's i tried all kinds of wierd techniqes and different things and you know where it got me? no where. i guess i learned from my mistakes and now i know to keep it simple and do alot of research before changing things around and trying new ideas.

I tend to believe that also. Some people aren't cut out for growing. Some people it just comes natural. I know a few people who suck at gardening. They plant shit and expect it to just grow without no maintence. Then they complain when the plants start to die.

I say give him an indoor growing book and come back in 6 months. If theres no improvement wait another eight hours or so until hes sleeping and hold a pillow tightly to his face until the kicking stops.

As pictured below Mr Sweaterback shant live to kill another plant anytime soon.

my sentiments exactly! first off its OUR (everyones) responsibility to get that dude something to read. a mary book or a good online reference, something...

i had a friend who had an outdoor plant and he told me to come look at this monster he has growing in the yard. ok when i get there i cant seem to see a mary plant anywhere, only shrubs, well he comes over and points to a knee high plant that has been topped to no end and has NO i mean NO fan leaves or mid sized leaves only the smallest lil leaves around the budsites! i said holy smokes man, you need somethin to read! well i gave him my collection of reading material and sent him reading!

it's another thing if the guy has access to all the literature in the world and chooses to be ignorant, then you have to go with plan b. the pillow firmly over the face, as suggested!

I'll give him a link to ICMAG.com and see if I can find a Jorge Cervantes grow book for indoor grows.

I caught on to growing very quickly and learned from my mistakes early. My first two attempts failed due to overwatering and heat in the growroom... My first harvest under not so ideal conditions yilded 2 oz's of some good sativa bud. My second grow was only 3 Sweet Tooth females under a 100w HPS which gave me 3 oz's of some kick ass indica smoke. My last grow, harvested outdoors in May of 2004, was a mix of KushxBubbleberry, Free Tibet and Skunk 1 which yielded 18 oz's of primo smoke. My last grow was the best because it was good variety and lasted from May of 2004 until January of 2005. I would smoke as much as I wanted for the next 9 months which was cool cuz I didn't have a job so I didn't have to worry about drug tests. Good Times, Good times.

i had a growing partner recently, and whenever we would get back to the growing house we would be stoned, he would always go over board and try to help me as much as possible.. but the thing was he was really the worst brown thumb i had ever seen in my whole life, he killed 3 plants trying to transplant them from small drinking cups to 1 gallon pots,( he only tried to transplant three while i was fixing the ventilation til i got to mad and just told him not to touch any of the plants) sad to say he is still my parnter but i make sure he doesnt touch the plants.. i made it clear to him also that he is a brown thumb so he knows wusup :)
